Have dined at this cosy eatery since 10+ years ago. Admittedly with all the options around in Orchard area we have not been to this place for a while already. Late lunch today and since most other Japanese restaurants in the building is closed after lunch hours this is definitely a life saver. Why we feel this deserves a post : Generous serving size. I took the photo of fried rice top down which on hindsight doesn’t do the humongous serving justice haha I should have taken a video. Ordered a Chahan meal with gyoza and free egg drop soup all for $18.53. 2 of us couldn’t finish the rice and had to pack home. Staff was nice and didn’t charge for takeaway box. Free unlimited water. Granted 2 of us are pretty small eaters but in today’s context where even foodcourt meals can cost more than $10 per pax we feel this place deserves a visit when you are in the area. You do not have to clear your own trays. They serve ramen too.

Gyoza no Ohsho Singapore used to be one of those places I’d pop by for a spontaneous takeaway bento set, especially when I wanted something affordable, tasty and fuss-free. Recently, I decided to dine in again, but the experience was unfortunately quite disappointing. Their signature fried rice, which I remembered enjoying more in the past, didn’t taste as good this time round. The gyoza was alright, but nothing particularly memorable, while the stir-fried chives and eggs felt pretty average overall. What affected the visit further was the service, which didn’t feel very warm or polite. For a place I used to associate with simple, satisfying meals, this visit just didn’t quite hit the same way. Maybe the takeaway experience still works better, but based on this dine-in meal, I left feeling a little let down.

Any self-respecting fried rice aficionado knows the defining feature of a good plate of fried rice is wok hei - breath of the wok. Despite offering Japanese-Chinese cuisine, their cha han has ascended to a level of wok hei that would put most full-fledged Chinese fried rice to shame through 8 generations. Every bite carried a fiery breath that enriched the soul and bestowed waves of rich, addictive umami upon your taste buds. Along with an incredible value ($12) especially given its location in the heart of town, this place is hard to beat if you’re looking for a hearty, satisfying meal. The store is obviously named for their gyoza, which is juicy and has a nice crispy char, though I do prefer a meatier bite. Their mapo tofu is also appetising, with a mellow spice profile that allows it to be had on its own. Overall, a great meal that your stomach and wallet will thank you for.

Located on the ground floor of the mall. It is located just at one of the side entrance door. Wide variety of food available. Ordered the Gyoza set, sliced pork and rice. Service was fast. Food was served promptly. Don’t think the rice is Japanese rice- there is no sticky or the soft Japanese rice texture. The prices are considered value for money, taking into consideration that it is in Orchard area and the portion of the food given. Overall experience was good. Would love to go back again.

Fried rice is so good. Gyoza very nice. Pork chashu is too salty for me. Ramen is decent. I like the tamago ramen! Mapo tofu is so good too. YUM
