This Shanghainese restaurant in Novena delivers a solid and authentic taste of Shanghai cuisine, making it a satisfying spot for those craving classic dishes done right. The menu features many well-loved staples, including xiao long bao, pork chop fried rice, and braised beef noodles—all prepared in a way that feels true to traditional flavours. The xiao long bao are delicate with a good amount of broth inside, while the braised beef noodles are comforting and rich. The pork chop fried rice is a standout in terms of portion size—it’s especially generous, easily enough to share if you’re not a big eater. Another highlight is the pan-fried buns. They’re nicely done with a juicy filling that bursts with flavour, which is always the key appeal of this dish. However, the base of the bun is slightly too thick, which takes away a bit from the ideal balance of crispy bottom and soft, fluffy dough.

Food generally is good, especially the 葱油拌面 is excellent. The ingredient - minced meat for dumplings, 小笼包, 生煎包 can be better. The 酸辣粉 is neither sour nor spicy. Service is good, as well as the environment. But not sure why need to pay before you get the order in the restaurant, not a hawker stall and they charge service fee, not a good practice at all.

Dropped by for a quick weekday lunch since I work nearby, had the Shanghai-style Fried Noodles and a side of Pan Fried Dumplings. The fried noodles were, unfortunately, quite average. The noodles came in relatively short strands rather than the usual long, springy ones, which made the texture feel less satisfying. Toppings were fairly minimal too—a few thin slices of lean pork and vegetables. I also noticed mine came with cabbage, whereas the menu shows chye sim. The wok hey was quite mild, though their house chilli oil did a great job lifting the dish and added the punch it needed. The pan fried dumplings were more enjoyable. The wrappers are thicker than usual but have a pleasant, slightly pastry-like flavour with nicely crisped bottoms. Inside, the filling was generous, juicy and still had a nice crunch from the vegetables. The first bite even released a little burst of savoury broth, giving it a subtle xiao long bao-like experience. The place is clean, comfortable and a convenient lunch spot around Novena. I'd happily order the pan fried dumplings again—worth trying if we're around the area.

Seriously, you've gotta give those noodles with bean sauce a shot! 🍜 They're cooked absolutely perfectly, like, super long and really chewy. 😋 And that Sichuan pickle sliced fish? 🐟 Oh my gosh, it's just so good! 💯 The cabbage, too, is cooked just right, still having that nice, satisfying crunch. 🥬 You know, not soggy at all! 👍 Plus, the service here? 🙌 It's totally excellent. ✨ They're so on top of it! 🌟 Love it! ❤️ Highly recommend! 🤩 So many delicious things! 🤤 A real treat! 🥳 Don't miss out! 🤩 Get over here! 👋 You won't regret it! 😉 Food heaven! 😇 So happy! 😄 My taste buds are singing! 🎤 What a find! 💖 Pure bliss! 🥰 Enjoy! 🎉

This restaurant is one of my favorites in Novena area. I come here after work for solo dinners. I've also invited friends and family over the years. Favorite food being the black fungus in vinegar, wanton soup, handmade noodles, sweet sour pork ribs. Once in a while I'll order the 生煎包 when there's a guest.
