A fantastic recommendation! This hidden Mexican gem in Novena is easy to miss if you don't know it's there, but it's absolutely worth seeking out. I'm so glad I made the trip because the food exceeded my expectations. The dishes were flavorful, authentic, and clearly prepared with care. Every bite was enjoyable. Highlight of the meal for me was definitely the dessert. It was beautifully executed, delicious, and the perfect ending to a wonderful dining experience. This is one of those off-the-beaten-path places that deserves more attention. I would happily recommend it to friends and will definitely be back again.

El Cocerino is one of those hidden gems that instantly catches your attention. It’s tucked away in a mall hallway, so the seating is a bit quirky and limited, but that somehow adds to its charm. The variety of spicy sauces is impressive—you can tell a lot of thought went into the flavor pairings. The fish tacos were a real highlight, with fresh fish, crisp lettuce, and a smooth, creamy sauce that tied everything together perfectly. The burrito stayed warm for an amazingly long time, which made each bite just as good as the first. The quesadilla came loaded with cheese, and the pork belly tacos had just the right amount of spice to keep things interesting. The drinks were a fun surprise—they’re served in these cute tumblers you can take home, and they’re super refreshing. What really stood out, though, was the personal touch. The whole place is run by one person who does it all, and she’s friendly, welcoming, and makes you feel right at home.

Very surprised with this find. Beautiful Mexican foods, awesome music. I don’t know how they do it, the ladies running the place are local Chinese, they don’t look Mexican at all, but their creations are definitely on point. Prices are reasonable and they are Friendly people too. Sadly dining experience brought down by the lack of A/C, no fault of the restaurant, it’s the building that’s not cooperating. I would suggest bringing a portable fan if coming for dinner after 8pm when the central A/C goes off. I hope you guys continue keeping this alive, and keep it real.

It’s definitely a spot that caters to a younger crowd, but the food turned out to be surprisingly good! We tried most of their recommended dishes and none disappointed — flavours were rich, and each dish was generously packed with protein and sauces. The fried chicken is not for the faint-hearted — quite spicy, so consider yourself warned! That said, we really enjoyed it. It was well coated and drenched in sauce, just the way we like it. The place is owned by a young lady who exudes warmth and positivity, which added to the overall experience. The only drawback was the lack of air conditioning after 8pm — it got a little stuffy once the central system was turned off. But apart from that, no complaints. We totally enjoyed our meal!

This food has a LOT of potential, but they need to overcome some extremely significant logistical hurdles for it to be what it has the potential to be! Cash & e-wallet payments accepted. No credit cards (at least that's what they say). Indoor seating only and VERY limited. This is one of those rare places where it's much better get delivery or take-out. I'll preface this by saying that when I visited on a Saturday night they were running with half the scheduled staff (one person instead of two). Despite this the woman taking care of everything did an amazing job and should be commended both for her good attitude as well as her memory! First off, this appears to be a small, primary-school snack shop and supply/knick knack store by day, doubling as a restaurant at night. Seating is indoors, but it's not in the shop itself. And it's *very* limited. Seating for 9-10 people max at three tables. You're literally eating in a school hallway. No charm whatsoever. And that can be ok, but there are other difficulties. The food has good flavor, but the fact that it's being prepared in a shop that probably only has a microwave at best for cooking is hugely problematic. Everything was in tupperware containers. Precooked and ready for assembly. I ordered street tacos and they were pretty much cold. The corn tortillas were not toasted at all and were crumbling apart under the meat topping. Hugely messy and aesthetically unappealing. The flavors were good themselves. The lengua (beef tongue) tacos were tender and the flavor was good - not overly salted and you could enjoy the flavor of the actual meat. But they weren't even room temperature and that really kills the vibe quick. Served with chopped onions, cilantro/coriander, a splash of salsa and a lime wedge. Be aware (as I was *not* because I didn't read the menu well enough!) that a single order has three small street tacos. Frankly, because it's Singapore, I figured I was paying for just one! The carnitas tacos were also good, though the meat was very sweet, something I don't personally care for. It was definitely tender and juicy but the strong sweet finish was a bit much. Same toppings as the lengua tacos. And both suffered from being cooked but cold, with cold, untoasted/ungrilled corn tortillas trying (and failing) to support the meat. The guacamole was good but unnaturally creamy (as well as chunky) so I'm not sure what they added to it. Chunks of avocado, tomato and onion were definite bonuses. Flavor was fine but a bit bland - needed a tad more lemon and some salt. You order the guac (or the pico) separate - you have to then order chips to go with it. I find this an abominable practice but this isn't the only place to do things this way. The chips are store bought but are pretty good quality/flavor and more than adequate for handling dip. The horchata was delicious and I think made from scratch. A touch more cinnamon would have been even better but still the flavor was incredible. A variety of bottled, traditional Mexican sauces are at each table to augment your meal as necessary. I like what they're serving here, but they need a better arrangement to offer it. They do a good business based on the steady stream of delivery drivers picking up orders, and I pray they are successful enough to get a larger place with an actual kitchen!
