🍽️ A Wonderful Chinese Feast — A Table Full of Comfort & Flavour What a feast! ❤️ This was a beautifully presented Teochew Cuisine with a great variety of dishes, from hearty traditional flavours to lighter seafood and vegetable dishes. Every dish brought something different to the table, making it a very satisfying and enjoyable meal to share with family and friends. 🐟 Steamed bamboo clams with glass noodles was one of the highlights. The clams looked fresh and tender, while the vermicelli soaked up all the delicious soy-based sauce — definitely something I kept going back for. 🍜 The stir-fried caipo kway teow had a lovely wok-hei and were packed with vegetables and savoury goodness. Simple, hearty and very satisfying. 🦐 The prawns were beautifully cooked, fresh and naturally sweet. They were substantial in size and made a very attractive centrepiece on the table. 🍄 The braised assorted ingredients were wonderfully rich and flavourful, with mushrooms, seafood and other traditional ingredients absorbing the fragrant gravy. A very comforting dish for those who enjoy classic Teochew cuisine. 🥢 The assorted braised platter was another treat, offering a wonderful variety of textures — tender, savoury and deeply flavoured. The sauce was especially enjoyable with the meat and seafood. 🥚 The crispy oyster omelette was golden and beautifully fried, with a satisfying crisp exterior and a savoury, aromatic flavour. 🌱 Scallops with asparagus & caipo provided a nice contrast to the heavier dishes. The asparagus was fresh and crunchy, while the scallops were tender and delicate. The lighter seasoning allowed the ingredients to shine. 🌸 The ngoh hiang were beautifully presented and had a lovely combination of crispness and savoury filling. ⭐ Overall A generous, hearty and satisfying Teochew feast with excellent variety. I particularly enjoyed the steamed bamboo clams with vermicelli, prawns, scallops with asparagus and the braised dishes. The portions were generous, the presentation was attractive, and there was a good balance between seafood, meat, vegetables and noodles. A memorable feast, beautifully shared around the table. ❤️🥢
View on GoogleCame here recently with my family to celebrate my dad's birthday. My dad has been quite into the Dear You movie lately, so we thought since it's about Teochew culture, why not come and try some Teochew dishes together. To be honest, the food was just so-so for me. Nothing really stood out, and at this price point, I was expecting a bit more. The prices are definitely on the higher side. Service was also a bit disappointing. Our table happened to be at the corner, and we pressed the service bell a few times, but nobody came over. One of the dishes took quite long to come, and we had to ask about it at least twice before it finally arrived. When the dessert came, some of it was accidentally spilled onto the table while serving. These things can happen lah, but with the price we were paying, I feel the service should be more attentive. Maybe we happened to go on an off day, but personally I don't quite understand the high Google rating based on our experience. The food was okay, but for the price and the service we received, I was expecting more. Still, we had a good time celebrating my dad's birthday together. Just hope the food and service can be better next time.
View on GoogleThe food is superb as usual but what really made the lunch especially memorable was the great service that went above and beyond. Tan Yi Xuan was our server and was most attentive, asking if there were any food allergies and how serious they were when taking our orders. My niece has a food allergy so we greatly appreciated and were seriously impressed by how detailed and attentive he was when explaining the dishes. Our other server Janet was also very good and meticulous with the service. Definitely a place we will be dining again at.
View on GoogleHad an enjoyable lunch with my sisters. We reminisced how our late father enjoyed the meals here with us. This is one of the rare restaurants in Singapore that serve traditional Teochew cuisines. We enjoyed the Keow Teow fried with Kai lan and preserved radish, the Ngoh Hiang and the Orh Nee. My favourite was the long beans fried with minced pork and preserved olive vegetables. We all agreed that the deep fried yam and sweet potato coated in icing sugar was mediocre; so was the oyster omelette. It was unfortunately not similar to what we ate in Chao Shan. We have to tone down our expectations. Service was very good. A special shout out to Ms Guo, a spritely server (from Putien) who is in her 70s. We are pleased to see that the restaurant continues to employ the elderly women! They might be advanced in age but were fabulous in their service and knowledge.
View on GoogleThe food was delicious as always! We’ve been here at least three times, and today we had the pleasure of meeting Hai Yan. She was very friendly, humble, and welcoming. It’s always nice to meet staff who make the dining experience even more enjoyable. 😊 And also met Cynthia Yee from Jumbo Group, when we were here last time.
