The best Japanese restaurant with affordable price in Singapore for my family. A wide variety of set meal (Gozen) are very worth for money. Fishes are very fresh. Japanese western food such as Tonkatsu, Steak, Grilled chicken are also very very well cooked. Kids meal are very attractive for Children too. Their seasonal menu is 'must try'. Atmosphere is sophisticated and quiet. Maybe family with baby is not preferred. 　But kids are OK as long as they understand the situation.

Four of us had dinner here as one of us is a member of the Japanese Association. The food here is tasty and the price is very reasonable. We ordered the kaiseiki set.

In the ever escalating contest for over-the-top Japanese experiences in Singapore, it’s great to enjoy an authentic meal that isn’t ostentatious nor relies on the freshest and/or rarest ingredients or spiky sea creatures to delight diners. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed each visit, be it for a chirashi bowl or a set variety of cooked and fried dishes. The tempura is especially notable - the prawn heads may be the best I’ve ever had anywhere. Unfortunately, Akane is a members-only restaurant, so our visits here are far less often than we’d like =(

The sashimi was cut generously and they were very fresh. The rest of the food was really good and the presentation was so colourful.
