Stumbled upon this place while passing by and decided to pop by. It's a quiet, no-frills zi char spot where the regulars clearly know something the rest of us don't. With just the zi char stall and drinks stall running the whole show, there's something quietly impressive about how they've kept things going — loyalty speaks volumes. Went with the hor fun and prawn paste fried chicken based on the reviews, and while it won't blow your mind, there's a familiar, comforting quality to the food that feels genuinely old school. You can tell these are the dishes people keep coming back to order. Sometimes that's exactly what you're after.
View on GoogleThe aunty manning the stall was on the phone when I approached and stood right in front of her. She took her time to finish her call before hanging up and, in an unpleasant tone, asked me ‘你要什么?’. If I had been in a rush, I would have just walked away. Even though it was a quiet weekend at the coffee shop, this kind of service isn’t really acceptable.
View on GoogleGreat for unabashedly traditional, crispy, salty, oily, wok fried goodness and a cold beer.
View on GoogleSuch a waste to have a stall selling poorly tasting drinks at such a primary central area. Wish there was good coffee here.
View on GoogleThis is our go to place for beef hor fun... with the right amount of wok hei and taste. The beef is tender and the portion can be big for small eaters. The har cheong kai is also a must order. Usually, we will pack and go from Bee Kia Seafood Restaurant as it is somewhat difficult to find parking with a small open space car park. Usually, we'll call to order and pick up. The place looks old and miserable partly because of the major construction just outside the coffee shop. It can get quite crowded at lunch time with customers who know of its existence. There is 1 other stall serving Indian food in this coffee shop.
