Came here for dinner at Hong Kong Street Chun Tat Kee 881 (XO) Fish Head Beehoon, and it really feels like one of those old school tze char spots that locals keep going back to. The place was quite busy, so it’s definitely better to make a reservation before coming. We ordered quite a spread — seafood soup, salted egg prawns, prawn paste chicken, pickled tofu, sweet and sour pork, and their signature song fish head beehoon. The dishes were all solid and comforting, the kind of flavours you expect from a well-established tze char place. The fish head beehoon was the highlight, with a rich and flavorful broth that made it very satisfying. The overall vibe is very nostalgic and no-frills, with that classic tze char atmosphere — simple setup, fast service, and food that focuses on taste rather than presentation. If you enjoy traditional tze char dining, this is definitely a place worth saving.

Prawn paste chicken was good, they managed to maintained their standard for this dish all these years. The veggies and eggs dishes were decent. Sweet sour pork did not impress, and the fish head steamboat was very disappointing. The fried fish used in the steamboat wasn't fresh and it's detectable in the taste and quality of the fish meat. I would avoid their fried fish dishes next time.

Chef was ok but front female staff are so very rude! They gave so little chilli for the amount of food I bought, yet threatening rudely to charge extra for more (reasonable amount of) chilli! If they don’t change their front staff’s attitude, it will badly affect their business. Already restaurant getting so few customers during lunch peak hour.

Went there on a Saturday night and it wasn't too crowded. However, the food took really long to come. They also cooked the sotong wrongly because we had ordered cereal flavour but it was salted egg. Taste wise, the food was quite nice. The sambal sweet potato leaves were flavourful, while the curry fish head was tasty and the sauce wasn't diluted. It was also spicier than we expected, which was great because some curry fish head can be quite bland. While there was too much batter for the sotong, the sotong itself was quite nice. I would say that if anyone wants to come to this place for some family dinner or gathering, it wouldn't be the best choice because it's located right next to the road. This means that it's pretty hard to hold a conversation with the incessant roaring of motorcycle and car engines right next to you.

Loved the fish soup beehoon - soup is fragrant with Chinese wine and big chunks of fish meat. This dish alone is worth the visit. The sambal kangkong also delish with generous sambal heebee. The steam meat patty dish was smooth and fresh tasting. Sam lor horfun as expected and the oyster omelette had succulent oysters served. Served within 5-10mins.
