Tbh i actually ate previously in 2024 and charsiew was olden day version, red dye cardboard and the stall looks very scruffy and grim. Fast forward 2026, its still looking grim and scruffy but charsiew has improved now, the parts are less tough and cardboard dry. One thing for sure, it is still very overly seasoned and heavy taste, for that small amount of money, portions were beyond hearty, it is gigantic and guaranteed satiety. The point why i wrote this review is the ngoh hiong. Too nostalgic, its pure meat and no crunches of chestnut with empowered hints of spices something you no longer find in 2026. Despite being served cold, it was not overly oily or stale.. i think i may have to go weekly now.. double up with the help yourself chili condiment outside the stall, it will be a lethally delicious pairing. Do take note, operating days still seems to be random, they dont open daily and sometimes a note is sticked on their shutters notifying patrons how long they will be close for.

I saw the old school style NgohHiang displayed with their roast meat. So I decided to try their roast pork and char siew wonton noodles with a side of ngohhiang. The noodles were done well. Not too much chilli, I really enjoyed every ingredient. The vegetables, the char siew, the roast pork, truly enjoyable. The wontons and the soup was a hit for me. I loved the taste and texture, the broth with just the right flavour and light milkyness. Of course the old school ngohhiang was enjoyable with the outer crust offering a light crisp texture and fillings packed tightly. Service from the nice old couple was nice with their smile. As it is a hawker centre, atmosphere is like most hawker centre in humid Singapore. The food is the key. Shiok.

I’ve found a new favorite wanton noodle shop at Whampoa Market! The noodles are perfectly cooked, and the meat is tender with just the right amount of saltiness. The wantons are exceptionally tasty, and the soup complements the dish beautifully. It's a must-try for anyone visiting the market!

very generous portion given by the elderly couple. Stall layout looks yummy n good thus i tried. Well noodles was still good after we had it at home approx 30-40 mins later. So in all fairness, i feel its nicer when we have it on the spot. Will come back and try again next round.
