This year, I still managed to get my annual fix of rice dumplings during the Dumpling Festival, although the plain Kee Zhang (alkaline rice dumpling) had already sold out by the time I arrived. Over the years, I have tried most of their offerings, including the Nyonya Rice Dumpling, Hokkien Rice Dumpling (with and without salted egg yolk), Cantonese Rice Dumpling with Salted Egg Yolk, Brown Rice Hokkien Dumpling, Black-Eye Beans Mushroom Rice Dumpling, and the Kee Zhang (both plain and with red bean filling). Among them, the Nyonya Rice Dumpling remains my favourite, followed closely by the Cantonese Rice Dumpling with Salted Egg Yolk and the Hokkien Rice Dumpling. All three are exceptionally well made, with flavours that remind me of the homemade dumplings I enjoyed growing up. Although the Brown Rice Hokkien Dumpling is undoubtedly the healthier option, it does not appeal to me as much. To me, a rice dumpling should have the characteristic chewy texture of glutinous rice, something that is inevitably lost when brown rice is used instead. As for the Kee Zhang, the plain version pairs wonderfully with either kaya or palm sugar syrup. The red bean version is equally enjoyable, with a filling that is just sweet enough to complement the mildly alkaline flavour of the yellow glutinous rice without being overpowering. The only variety that did not quite suit my palate was the Black-Eye Beans Mushroom Rice Dumpling. Compared with the other savoury dumplings, it lacked the richness and depth of flavour that I was expecting. One thoughtful feature that deserves special mention is the use of different coloured strings to distinguish each dumpling variety. By simply referring to the chart printed on the plastic bag, it was easy to identify every dumpling without having to unwrap them individually. Overall, this remains one of my preferred places to purchase traditional rice dumplings during the Dumpling Festival, offering a good variety and flavours that evoke a sense of nostalgia with every bite.

I managed to buy mine 1 day b4 and the best part - Ms Josephine Tan from HQ Eastern Dumpling took my order and prepare for me. I paynow to the company UEN. Everythings were so convenience.
