Really good food in a cosy environment with a self service element I.e. going to fridge to get your own drinks and cold glasses. Came here for lunch and I really like this place. Will be back 100% to try other dishes. I tried 3 dishes this time; all were good. The garlic honey chicken dish was especially well done and mindblowingly delicious. The hunan chili pork dish was also really good with just the right level of spiciness (we ate up almost all the chilli haha). The boss lady was really kind and friendly when we spoke to her even with my broken mandarin. They have specials sometimes. Like today they had rice dumplings cause it is duan wu jie (端午节). Can’t wait to go back to try the other dishes! 😋
View on GoogleWe reached the place around 7, it was not crowded, the place looked like a small cozy hole in the wall place you would find along a street in china. Its scan to order, no gst or service charge, yet food is delivered to your table, and there is no self tray return point. We ordered 水煮鱼(spicy boiled fish - probably frozen dory), 湖南炒肉(huna style spicy stir fried pork), 番茄炒鸡蛋(fried tomato egg) and 5 bowls of rice for 3pax. The total price was only $54. As someone who grew up in china, the flavour here is truly authentic. The food came hot, fragrant and flavourful. The pork was tender and the chillies were delicious. The tomato egg was done the true chinese way. The fish was slightly modified for local taste but super good. Overall this place was top tier! 口味十足,正宗,地道,超赞的,好吃好吃好吃
View on Googlevery nice, good seasoning and has wok hey 锅气很足 rarely see places have fried pork rib with cartilage ! Will definitely come back again (they close on Monday)
View on GoogleWe were confused by the 锅包肉 (sweet and sour fried pork) because it was not crispy at all. Instead, it was more like the tangy version of 排骨王 (sweet and sour pork ribs). The fillings of the pork & chives dumplings were rather bland. Fortunately, we ordered the eggplant with minced pork claypot which was palatable enough to enjoy with white rice. If you love prawns but lazy to deshell them, can try the cereal prawns here. Not bad but the flavours are quite mild. Overall, the food are okay for the price point. From a certain perspective, they tasted like home cooked food.
View on GoogleReally good experience and great value for money food here. Can taste the quality of the ingredient and the skill of the chef. The lamb stew soup is clear, clean and flavorful yet natural without much msg taste. Not oily at all. Simply amazing. Simple stir fried you mai lettuce veg is amazing as well. You can taste the skill of the chef in this simple dish. Hope to return to try other dishes. Also understand the master of this chef is the cook for Mao Ze Dong which is why there’s a 毛家红烧肉 in menu which I look fwd to try next time. And the wonderful lady boss waive corkage for us. Great food great service!
