This place is super good. I dont praise it enough. The food was amazing and actually mind-blowing. The team is the best part. The boss lady was super chill and nice. Definitely get the chilli crab, oyster omelette and stingray. Super nice fans above to keep you cool and really clean. 11/10

5th Aug 2026; Ordered sambal stingray & Kai lan, $22 & $10 respectively, see portion size from the photos. They served the dishes to your table, quite impressive. The stingray is acceptable, the cut is not boney, lots of flesh, sambal is not spicy nor sweet. The Kai lan is abit bland, perhaps less salt, it's healthy.

Non pushy, good service. Amazing crab and seafoods. We got the fried rice, watercress salad, fried rice. Came out super quickly. Quality and affordable food. Would come back

먹고죽자, best spot to eat chilli crab and cereal prawn with a chance of meeting other tourists to share info. Awesome place. The little limes were so fragrant, too. Defo must visit place for a layover or a city visit. Walking distance from the MRT.

31 Heng Heng BBQ (Chili Crab Stall)
During our second visit to Newton Food Centre, my husband generously gave me 50 dollars to spend however I pleased. I thought I would be able to try many different things, but I ended up splurging all of it on one incredible Singapore chili crab from Awesome Always—and I have no regrets at all. The crab was incredibly fresh, with tender, succulent meat that came off the shell easily. The chili sauce was the perfect blend of sweet, savory, and spicy, with a wonderful depth of flavor that lingered on the palate. The sauce was thick and sticky enough to soak up with the accompanying fried mantou buns, which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The portion size was generous and perfect for sharing. This stall really knows how to deliver classic Singapore chili crab with authentic taste and quality ingredients. If you’re at Newton and craving seafood, 31 Heng Heng BBQ should be at the top of your list.
