I really wonder how did they get Michelin award? Really absurd. Sad that the tourist/foreigner would have thought this is how it taste! Won't come here again. Total waste of my calories. Worst plate of char kuey teow. Tasted like those morning fried mee in hawker $1. No wok hei, only taste of the dark sauce. Carrot cake was a little bit better. The chicken feet is bad. Prawn fried dim sum was not bad but very oily. Chee cheong fun nothing fantastic, very little char siew in it. We ordered fish soup too (no photo). It was quite tasteless, 4 slices fish only for a small bowl. Took us awhile to find seats on a Sunday 12.45pm.

View on GoogleI ordered the 翡翠炒粿条 at TANGS with fairly modest expectations since it’s Michelin recommended, but unfortunately it turned out to be a real disappointment. The dish was poorly executed from start to finish. The kway teow was overly soft and wet, lacking any wok hei or fragrance that you would expect from a proper stir-fried noodle dish. Instead of being light and aromatic, it was flat, with an oddly dull soya taste. The “翡翠” (spinach/green vegetable element) felt more like a token addition rather than an integrated ingredient. There was no vibrancy, and no balance. Seasoning was average. The texture overall was mushy, with nothing to provide contrast or structure. For a dish rated as Michelin-recommended, the quality was surprisingly low and felt more like a rushed canteen-style plate than something worth sitting down for. Sadly, this is not a dish I would recommend, and it has definitely made me hesitant to try other items from the same stall. There are far better versions of 炒粿条 available elsewhere in Singapore.
View on GoogleThis is not char kuay teow. This is black sauce noodles top up with 菜心. Does the original owner at golden mile food centre know that someone at the wok is throwing his name away???
