My favourite place to eat in aircon. Delicious zichar and hor fun. One of the best I have had even when compared to neighbourhood coffee shops. The china service staff gives the best service. I observe her taking the initiative to tip up green chilli or guiding staff. The young girl with short hair gives the worst service. She mechanically squeezes customers in between others even when during off peak periods - can be 2.30pm on a weekday. I understand the rules to optimise space for crowds but perhaps some discretion is needed. The china lady always uses her discretion and still manages to maximise capacity.

I've been here many times, and my usual order is the Teochew kway teow, which never disappoints. This time, I came with a bigger group, so we got to share more dishes. The broth for the seasonal duck mee sua was incredibly rich and packed with flavour from all the ingredients. Will surely be back to try the other dishes

Whoever said Orchard Road is only for burning your credit card clearly hasn't stumbled upon my secret weapon — a hidden gem (or should I say, hidden JEM) serving the most gloriously heartlander Zi Char you never expected to find in Singapore's fanciest shopping belt. Allow me to be your unsolicited food guide. 1. Salted Egg Pork (4/5) — Must Try, No Excuses Imagine a liu sha bao went to the gym, bulked up, and came back as a fried pork cutlet. That's essentially what's happening here. The salted egg oozes out dramatically like it's auditioning for a food drama, coating every piece in a glorious, aromatically sinful crust. Each bite is a commitment. Salted egg lovers, consider this your pilgrimage destination. 2. Chye Poh Omelette (4/5) "It's just an omelette," said no one who has actually eaten this. Don't let its humble appearance fool you — this is the dish that separates the culinary pretenders from the true masters. Simple ingredients, serious skill. Your taste buds will quietly nod in respect. 3. Spring Onion & Ginger Chicken (4/5) — The Identity Crisis Dish Is it Gong Bao? Is it Three Cup Chicken? Honestly, nobody knows, and frankly, nobody cares once it hits the table. It has carved out its own delicious personality and I am here for it. Try it and drop your verdict in the comments — this one deserves a debate. 4. Hotplate Beancurd (3.5/5) Arrives sizzling, dramatic, and demanding your attention. If hotplate beancurd is your love language, you'll appreciate this. A solid rendition that won't disappoint the devoted fans of the genre. 5. Stir Fry Green Dragon (4/5) Think you can fry a dragon? Wake up your idea, lah. This dish — a lively stir fry with bean sprouts and mushrooms — is proof that sometimes the most unassuming items on the menu quietly steal the show. Extraordinary flavour hiding behind a very ordinary name. The dragon wins every time. ________________________________________ So the next time someone tells you Orchard Road has no affordable food, send them here. You're welcome.

the teo chew hor fun is good! in general, dry noodle and rice dishes from here are better. got the claypot noodles today and it was below satisfactory ☹️ for the price, this place is value for money, but just order the right dishes! the ambience is very old school style which is a plus

Their salted egg pork is really delicious, with the creamy and slightly spicy sauce pairing nicely with the tender pork without being too rich. The trio-eggs fried rice was pretty unique, as it came with century egg which gave the dish a distinct flavour. Their prawn sauce chicken is crispy and juicy and not too oily while their hotplate beancurd is loaded with beancurd, fishcake and prawns, a hearty dish at an affordable price. They do get crowded during lunch/dinner periods and seating can be a bit cramped but it is still a lovely place to dine at with many standout dishes.
