It was a pleasant surprise with the food selection/combination. I love both the savoury and sweet treats. Both made my eyes brightened up when I taste it in my taste buds. I like the environment and the service too. I think it is value for money too. Will go back again :))
View on GoogleMy first time at the High Tea Buffet. Nice selection of savory and sweet items. Perhaps could have 2 change of tea instead of 1. Ambience was cool and relaxed and service was pleasant.
View on GoogleSelection was not super large but i found it appropriately sized for tea :) small savoury pastries were done better than desserts. Tiramisu cup was disappointing but creme brulee was good and the mudcake was decadent. One bite savoury pastries tasted perfectly balanced. Chicken shephards pie wasn't great, but all the other hot items were not bas. Ice cream was surprisingly good and thick though. Tea was good. Plates were cleared politely and promptly.
View on GoogleFood: Variety isn't expansive but sufficient and delicious. I would much prefer it this way then to have an expansive variety of food that taste subpar. There was an artichoke canapé as well as an artichoke soup that I found to be really refreshing. The Chef's Special for that day was wagyu beef cheek which could've been more tender but was decent enough. Serivce: Service was extremely good. Was always attended to, plates were cleared fast, hot water for the tea was always refilled as well. I was served mainly by a Mr Mu Mu Lin and I think the establishment should keep him on staff if they can. Rare to find a younger person that is attentive, genuine and just the right amount of friendly. Atmosphere: Goodwood Park is one of the older but also nicer hotels in Singapore full of old world charm. L'Espresso is located near the pool area with some landscaping greenery so on a good day, it lets in a nice amount of light and feels really calm and peaceful. Price: Going out to eat these days really feels way too expensive but for this high tea buffet, I would say its pretty good value for money considering you can chalk up the same amount having just pretty average ala carte meals elsewhere. Overall, the atmosphere is a huge plus point for me and I would love to go back again. And you know its a rare occasion when the 10% service charge was well deserved.
View on GoogleCame to L'Espresso with high hopes of being high tea buffet but was less impressive than expected. The food were filling and of quality but unable to feel like I am enjoying because it is situated along the corridor right at the main entrance of Goodwood Park Hotel, without any good views. Order of tea also came wrong which the staff did not realise but I did not fuss. For this price ($68++), I would prefer to visit another high tea location.
