I dined at Jiang-Nan Chun on Day 1 of Lunar New Year, and once again the experience was exceptional. The food was delicious across the board. The Abalone Yu Sheng was beautifully balanced and fresh, the suckling pig was perfectly roasted with crisp skin, and the steamed bamboo clams with glass noodles were fragrant and flavourful. The glutinous rice with Chinese sausage was rich and comforting, while the crispy chicken was wonderfully golden and succulent. What truly stood out, however, was the superb service. I briefly mentioned that the steamed fish felt slightly over-steamed. The team responded immediately with genuine concern, apologised sincerely, and graciously offered to replace it with a freshly prepared fish — completely complimentary. That level of attentiveness and professionalism reflects their commitment to delivering an impeccable dining experience. Elegant setting, refined cuisine, and service that goes above and beyond. Dining at Four Seasons Hotel Singapore is always a pleasure. Highly recommended.
View on GoogleWe celebrated our reunion dinner at Jiang Nan Chun for the first time and it did not disappoint. The setting was elegant and festive, creating a wonderful atmosphere for family celebration. Each course was nicely executed with reasonable portions. Service was attentive and warm, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. Definitely a place we would return to
View on GoogleWe dined here on Saturday, 21 February at 8pm, booked by friends visiting from the US who were staying at the Four Seasons. Unfortunately, one of our friends fell seriously ill and was unable to attend the dinner. The service was the main disappointment of the evening. One of the waitresses — possibly the manager — appeared visibly impatient while taking our order and gave the impression that she could not wait to be done with us. She also commented that we had ordered “too little,” which felt unnecessary and came across as condescending, leaving us uncomfortable as diners. In addition, when we asked about credit card promotions, we were given a flat “no” without any explanation. After later noticing promotions advertised on the DBS website and probing further, the response shifted to a vague verbal comment that “maybe Chinese New Year, no promotions,” with no clarity on terms or conditions. The lack of a clear, courteous explanation — and the dismissive manner in which the query was handled — suggested either unfamiliarity with the promotions or a lack of willingness to explain. A more informed and polite response would have been appreciated. The food, however, was excellent and ultimately the saving grace of the experience. The dishes were refined, well-executed, and fully deserving of the restaurant’s strong reputation. The kitchen clearly operates at a very high level. For a restaurant of this calibre, service should match the quality of the food. While the cuisine was outstanding, the service fell short of expectations, resulting in a mixed overall experience.
View on GoogleA very disappointing dining experience for a restaurant that costs 200+ per person. I had included a remark in the reservation mentioning that we were celebrating a graduation. Not only did the restaurant fail to acknowledge this, but when we asked if they could arrange a small surprise, the staff adamantly insisted—at least three times—that "we didn't receive your remark" and said they "need to have the front desk check it." After tossing us around for ten minutes, they finally admitted it was their oversight before being willing to "prepare a surprise." Rationally speaking, a restaurant at this price point should not be missing remarks. Emotionally, even if a guest hadn't left a note, the way they handled a last-minute request to celebrate such a major milestone was completely inappropriate. The food itself was actually very good and worth trying, though.
View on GooglePeking duck served with caviar, first time trying and it was exciting. This is definitely the better Peking duck you can get in Singapore. Other dishes taste pretty average here and price is on the higher side. Service is great though and the restaurant has a very nice Chinese decor. Other than the duck, their complimentary birthday cake impressed us too. If you are looking for Peking duck and celebrating a birthday, this is the place to go.
