Super Underrated Dim Sum. (30% off weekdays 2.30 - 5pm) Sick of the usual dim sum fare? Then you have to come try out Black Society’s Dim Sum. The tea is aromatic. The variety was great. The food quality is good. Main downside is… most the staff on duty while we were there were a little… off. Didn’t check tea. Slow to respond. One lady, when we told her the crispy things were soft and no longer fresh, basically went “orh.” and then did.. nothing. But towards the end of our meal, the staff that served us was in the ball. Fast, thorough, etc, so I guess YMMV off-peak. But the star of the show was the food. They all tasted freshly made. Things like their Siew Mai was stuffed with ingredients. Fried items were crispy and well seasoned. Definitely not central-kitchen pre-prepared stuff here. Lots of different item not available anywhere else as well. Think their business is not doing well hence the move from vivocity to penang road. Would be a waste if they couldn’t survive here. Please support!
View on GoogleThe dining experience was disappointing from start to finish. The restaurant was excessively noisy, with patrons belting out out-of-tune songs that made conversation difficult. Service was painfully slow, lacking any sense of timing, coordination, or sequencing between dishes. The food was equally underwhelming, especially considering the premium prices. Skip the much-hyped Dongpo pork and oyster omelette—both failed to impress. The Peking duck was arguably the worst I have had, lacking the quality and execution one would expect from a restaurant of this calibre. What was most disappointing was the poor service standard. For a restaurant charging these prices, the overall experience fell far short of expectations. Save your money and go to Putien instead.
View on GoogleStunny classy black decor. Got the takeaway lunch bento. Portion size was good and flavours were enjoyable. A chill afternoon tea or drinks onsite would be nice.
View on GoogleWonderful Sunday dim sum lunch. All items we chose were classic styles and flavourful. Portions were decent for the price. The design and ambience of the restaurant creates an enjoyable experience. Service was attentive and fast for all items except one that came after we got the bill but it wasn't a big deal.
View on GoogleWe celebrated my mother's birthday here some days back. We were very satisfied with the quality of each dish, and many of them had a small, creative spin on it, while remaining fundamentally authentic. The ambience was very good also, and it felt recently refreshed. A great option for occasions or just a better group dinner
