Wonderful experience at Bibik Violet. Despite the hour-long queue, the team took such great care of us, serving complimentary butter cake and iced water chestnut drinks while we waited. The food was delicious and authentic, but the warm service really stood out. Emily was attentive and friendly, while Krishnan very thoughtfully surprised us with complimentary desserts after recognising we had waited patiently. Milky (hope I got the spelling right!) and Min also delivered great service and drinks. The male floor staffs were quick and friendly too. Desserts were soooo good, especially the cempedak cake, ang ku kueh and other kueh-kueh. Definitely worth the wait and would happily return! ❤️

Had a lovely dinner at Bibik Violet with a friend and really enjoyed the meal! We had the Fish Curry, Ayam Goreng Berempah, Rosella Lime, and more. The fish curry was rich and comforting, while the ayam goreng berempah was crispy, tender and full of fragrant rempah. We also added the achar for $4, which paired really well with the dishes. Conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT. Would love to come back and try more of the menu especially for their toasts! (ps. extra points for the host who kept checking in on us which makes us feel welcoming!)

Overall, Bibik Violet offers a comfortable dining experience with warm, efficient service and well-balanced Peranakan flavours. The only drawback was the ikan bilis, which was noticeably saltier than the rest of the dishes and slightly disrupted an otherwise harmonious balance. A pleasant surprise was discovering the kueh selection available when I arrived at around 11 am, even though the online menu stated they are served only after 2 pm. While I didn't make a purchase, the vibrant colouring of the Ang Ku Kueh and Kueh Dadar felt a little too bold for my preference.

The food, kueh and deco are all very good, of good quality and generous with the flavours. The kueh pie tee shell is crispy and no stale oil taste. The turnip filling is cooked till soft and full of dried shrimp flavour. The chicken leg for the curry is cooked till tender, gravy is thick and slightly spicy. Size is good enough ti share. The prata as fried till crispy, so it goes well wity the curry. Achar is not bad too. The chestnut sugar cane and gula Melaka sago are very well done, sweet and thick enough.. For the kueh and cake, all we ordered were very yummy. The sweet bean Ang ku kueh may be a little sweet. The coconut pineapple tart is slightly different from the usual coconut tart as the pineapple jam gives it a sweet tangy flavour.

Had a wonderful experience at Bibik Violet located within Temasek Shophouse. It’s such a cosy all-day café and bakery that beautifully celebrates Peranakan flavours in a relaxed, welcoming setting. The interior is absolutely charming — warm lighting, heritage-inspired tiles, rattan touches and nostalgic details that make the space feel both elegant and homely. It’s the kind of place where you can truly slow down and enjoy your meal. Service was also a highlight. The staff were genuinely friendly, attentive and welcoming, which made the whole dining experience even more pleasant. You can really feel the heart behind the concept. Food-wise, we enjoyed the comforting Chap Chye, braised in savoury tau cheo gravy, and the Nasi Lemak with Ayam Berempah, which came with crispy, well-marinated chicken and fragrant coconut rice with all the classic accompaniments. The Buah Keluak Soft Rib was rich and deeply flavourful, with tender pork ribs coated in that earthy, distinctive sauce. The side dishes were equally enjoyable — crispy Ngo Hiang, crunchy Kueh Pie Tee, nicely grilled Chicken Satay with peanut sauce, and soft, fragrant Yam Kueh. We also tried assorted Nonya kueh and bakes from the counter, which were beautifully nostalgic and perfect with a cup of Teh O Siu Dai or Kopi Si. The Water Chestnut Sugarcane and Calamansi Sour Plum were refreshing options too. Overall, a lovely spot for comforting heritage flavours, friendly service, and beautiful ambience. Definitely a place I’d return to.
