No hisotry about the founder in this outlet, the wantons and soup doesnt taste authentic as the stall in Dunearn Food Center... soup has abit of bah chor noodle taste. The wanton noodle was all lumped together, chilli is spicy and "looked alight" but taste not there. I think the Joo Chiat Eng's is still closest to the origin creator. No service expected as u are required to order at the counter and self-collect. Saw 4 staff on a non-busy Mon evening at 6:15pm, 1 inside the counter,1 standing at the back idling or waiting to collect tray and clear table, 2 seated and busy with their mobile device, either watching show or playing games.
View on GoogleWe ordered the curry chicken noodles, curry chicken rice, wanton noodles, ngoh hiang - chestnut cake, liver roll, yam roll, crunchy cracker, prawn cracker. A bit pricey. $7 for the curry chicken noodles. $2.5 to $2.8 for each ngoh hiang piece. But tastes good. Curry was flavourful. Chicken well seasoned. Noodles nice texture. Ngoh hiang fried to crispy texture. The extra spicy chilli was very shiok. Not bad. My kids said want to eat here again.
View on GoogleHuge disappointment. Compared to before, it seems the stake holders are no longer as committed in running the shop as before. Service was almost non existent, with zombie-like service. I thought I owned them money. $6 for a bowl of noodles. You would expect better service and quality. Soup was cold and wantons were lumpy. Was told no more soup when I wanted to exchange for a hot soup. I won't be coming again.
View on GoogleVery good wanton mee 👍 Noodles are springy, char siew tasty, and wantons fresh. Sauce is well balanced and fragrant. Stall is clean and comfortable. Simple, honest food done well. Will come back again.🤩😋
View on GoogleDon’t confused this with the original Eng’s wanton noodles. 1) noodles were clumpy and didn’t offer proper separation between strands. 2) chilli despite warning on bottle is not spicy, no where near Eng’s or chilli padi. Disappointed with this outlet, thought it will be similar but far from it. Head to nearby Dunman food centre for better wanton noodles.
