Love the antique pernakan feature of Kallang Antique House. I signed up a bead work class through culture pass and had the honor of a brief tour of the house. The intricate placement of every item and merticulous craft work displayed colourful artwork and skills of the pernakan. Also the a brief walk through history of the culture uniquely to both Malaysia and Singapore. Appointment has to be made in advance and house not open for tour during the weekends!

I had an incredible experience with Angeline as our guide for the Peranakan culture tour, by appointment only through Pelago. She was truly fantastic—knowledgeable, approachable, and always eager to share her expertise. Throughout the tour, she provided fascinating insights into Peranakan heritage and culture, making the history come alive in a way that was both engaging and informative. The Katong Antique House has many interesting artefacts on display. Each item told a unique story, and Angeline did an excellent job of explaining their significance. Highly recommend this experience for anyone interested in Peranakan culture. It's a great opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of this rich and vibrant heritage!

An amazing peek into a colourful and rich culture born when the Chinese came down to Malacca, Penang and married the locals thus the first Peranakans or straits born Chinese. The narrative was detailed and full of little anecdotes of those times. Thank you. It was enjoyable

Great place to learn about Peranakan culture and history. The place is only open upon appointment if I'm not wrong. Went there recently to learn beading. Really enjoyed learning more about Peranakan history and culture. Museum is full of pretty and meaningful antiques, great for photos!

I had such a wonderful afternoon at the Nyonya beading class at the Katong Antique House. Angeline was absolutely lovely and incredibly patient, guiding us through the workshop with so much warmth and care. She even prepared Christmas gifts for us, took lots of photos on our behalf, and generously gave us plenty of space and time to explore and photograph the house. The house itself was stunning—an amazing piece of cultural heritage that has been so beautifully preserved, and being in that space really added depth to the experience. For the workshop, Angeline’s clear explanations and thoughtful slideshow helped me better understand the history and intricacy of Nyonya beading, making the craft feel approachable yet deeply meaningful. I left with not only a stronger appreciation for the art form, but also a little starter kit that made me genuinely excited to continue this new hobby. It was such a special, unhurried experience, and my friend and I both had an amazing afternoon that felt enriching, relaxing, and truly memorable.
