A small cozy Chinese restaurant. The dishes are fantastic which I had: 1. Poached pig's kidneys and livers (spring onion and ginger) 2. Pork ribs with bitter gourd and black bean sauce The meats are very tender. They only accept cash and PayNow. #2nd review (5 months later)# I came back to try more dishes. The liver dish is still very good. This time I also had: 1. Steamed fish head - it's huge and generous with fried pork lard 2. Braised tofu with prawn - so good 3. Baby squid 4. Shark fin with egg 5. Steamed pork with salted fish 6. Prawn paste chicken wings - the only dish which I won't recommend as I think it's over-fried I confirmed with the restaurant that BYOB is not allowed.
View on GoogleRating: 2.5 / 5 stars 🤩 : Sweet & Sour Pork, Sweet Potato Leaves 🤧 : Overall quality Overall, an unflattering experience. I would be embarrassed if i had to host someone important here. Menu is small, but good enough for what seems to be a simple family restaurant. Whilst prices displayed are already nett, it is still on the pricier side. This perception was reinforced after the meal, especially after taking food quality into consideration. Food came relatively quickly. One dish after another (total of 9) came out of the kitchen as soon as we ordered. This was impressive. As we dug in, we were hit with some disappointment. The dishes were generally hit and miss. Whilst sweet & sour pork and sweet potato leaves were good, everything else was unimpressive. No dish was “poor” by all means, but they were absolutely ordinary - they were like home cooked food but just not as good. That said, I still notice a fair bit of crowd. There must be something that draw these diners - might be familiarity, tradition or perhaps simply preference.
View on GoogleThese were dishes we had in 2017. I especially liked their steamed fish head and steamed pork with salted fish. Other dishes we had were sambal sweet potato leaves, tofu prawns, shrimp paste chicken wings (har cheong gai) and ginger scallion pork liver. I have seen recent posts lamenting that the taste and some dishes are no longer on the menu. This post serves as a tribute to the old boss.

While this might be inconvenient for those who prefer card transactions, it does bring about a certain old-school charm and nostalgia. It’s advisable to come prepared with cash to avoid any hassle during the payment process. Moving on to the dishes, the portion sizes were reasonable. Dishes, I found them to be average in terms of taste and presentation. The service staff left me with a so-so impression. Speaking of pricing, However, is slightly higher price range.
View on GoogleLovely Cantonese style dishes with small portions allowing one to sample more dishes. Haven’t been here for many years. Standard is still good. Recommended!
