It was nice to have the food pictures on the pillar outside. They were very fresh, clean and inviting looking and gave a clue as to the many different kinds of food that they had available at this vegetarian restaurant. I chose the masala chai and walked in and asked for it. It came really rapidly. Tastes hot and flavorful. It would be nicer to have it served in a ceramic mug, but it was very affordable. Good value for the money. Chai was hot and delicious l. Also, I liked the wide range of pre-packaged Frozen treats and got a double chocolate ice cream cone at a reasonable price. I'll come back again. I would just suggest they paint the walls or clean them. Seemed a popular place. There were people in and out all the time, even the odd hour of the day.

Nice Indian eatery opposite Vinaygar temple in Katong. Particularly convenient for a post-morning Pooja breakfast. Previously, there was another South Indian eatery, that’s moved further up the road in Katong. This is definitely an upgrade from its predecessor. We ordered the following - 1) Uppuma - Generous quantity of uppuma, served warm and tasted soft and good. 2) Idli and Vada set - liked the vadas here, which are served warm and fresh unlike some other places. Idlis were soft and warm too. Liked the coconut chutney. 3) Paper Masala dosa - crispy dosa, and properly mashed potato bhaji. 4) Filter coffee - Good, strong filter coffee that’s authentic and not instant. 5) Mini Tiffin - Variety of items, if you are looking for a heavy breakfast. Comes with Pongal, idli, poori and vada, with 3 chutneys/sambhar and Bhajji. Pretty filling.

#2nd review# (2 weeks later) I had the chapati set, which was served with channa masala and vegetable curry. It was decent. I would definitely recommend the onion dosa, though! The onions might seem raw, but they're not spicy. They have a subtle sweetness, probably because they're heated quickly while the dosa is being made. #1st review# I had the plain dosai, which came with white chutney, vegetable curry, and chili gravy (I didn't manage to remember the names of the gravies, I'll update after I clarify next time). The dosai was closer to a crispy texture. Don't be fooled by the thin dosai, it's very filling! I finished my meal with masala tea; not the greatest, but hearty. Note: Credit card payment is accepted here.

Dropped by for brunch over a weekend, had idli sambar, which was nice. Fluffy idlis and the sambar was just aptly spiced. We also had onion rava dosa which I found a bit too oily but overall the dishes here are good and value for money. Will recommend.

This restaurant has improved a lot since our last visit several years ago. The restaurant has been renovated. Food is good as before: traditional Indian vegetarian food. Menu is extensive.
