Minus 1 cause the price is so freaking steep. $22 after gst and service charge.... Not all their ramen is well balanced, the black garlic is too strong in certain aspects it makes it hard to enjoy Their OG ramen is good, perfect creamy egg, super nice tender meat, noodles are a little thin but it's just a certain style. See your preference. Soup is nice and pleasant, spice really has a slight kick to it Their long chairs are super upright so it's not very comfortable

Standard here is as high as it ever was. Remember first trying it at Liang court circa 2010. The taste is astonishingly, exactly the way it was then! Great noodles, great charsiew, great chicken broth. You'd think the taste would be less savory, to use chicken broth rather than pork, but not so. Perfect onsen egg as usual. Add on a side of grilled char siew with lime and chilli flakes, yum 😋. Put a teaspoon of dried roasted garlic, that's the stuff. Was clearly the best ramen I'd had at the time. It's still good now, but cooking standards have also gone up significantly over time. Surprising to see how so many of the things marutama did then have become more standard now. But with the benefit of hindsight, it only makes sense.

The restaurant is well staffed, and we appreciated the small touch of complimentary iced water being served. Ordering is done conveniently through a QR code at the table. Despite visiting on a Sunday evening, it wasn’t overly crowded and the waiting time for a table was about 15 minutes. The food quality is decent for the price, making it a worthwhile option. Overall, it’s a good choice if you’re looking for a quick, no-fuss meal.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but Sharon from Marutama Ramen (Kallang) genuinely deserves recognition at the highest level. Her service was honestly on another level — attentive without being intrusive, incredibly warm, fast, professional, and she handled everything with so much sincerity and care. You can immediately tell when someone is just doing a job versus someone who truly takes pride in creating an amazing dining experience. Sharon is the latter. Even during busy periods, she remained composed, observant, and exceptionally hospitable. She anticipated what customers needed before they even had to ask. That level of awareness and professionalism is rare nowadays. The ramen was great, but Sharon was the reason the entire experience became memorable. Staff like her are the type that build customer loyalty and make people want to return again and again. Management seriously needs to recognize her efforts because this is not ordinary service — this is premium, elite-tier hospitality. Employees like Sharon are assets to the company and absolutely deserve promotion and recognition. Thank you Sharon for the outstanding experience. You set the standard

We visit this branch regularly. The servers here are really friendly. When there are offers or if using Grab has a discount, they’ll remind you to use it. Food wise, usually order the chicken, the char siew ramen and the gyoza, always tastes the same - full of flavour. Highly recommend to come here! Especially weekday nights - quiet and chill environment.
