Small char siew pau at $1.10 each. Used to come here a lot many years ago when I stayed nearby, so this place brings back quite a bit of memories. Packaging has changed though, last time it was the square orange box, quite nostalgic. The pau is still really good, honestly one of the best for me (personal opinion haha). It’s actually on the sweeter side, but just the right kind of sweet. Bun is soft and fluffy, filling is juicy, and still as small as I remember. Simple, nostalgic, and still hits the spot.

Haven’t been back here for a while, and the neighbourhood still carries that nostalgic vibe. Older customers often still refer to it by its famous handmade pau former name … a continuation of the old “Tanjong Rhu Pau” (1988) — which holds a lot of sentimental value for those who grew up eating these handmade paus decades ago. The taste and technique is a big part of its reputation today. New branding (since 2021) … but the paus are still tiny 🤣though still flavourful! There are also more parking lots available now on both sides of the road leading to Block 7 (GEJB 4 & 1). 🚗🚙🚗

Went to Tanjong Rhu Pau at Guillemard Rd but was closed for repairs/renovations. Walked to this place instead. One thing I can't accept is factory-made pau so I was eager to try handmade pau. For the "mains", The Big Pork Pau (2.20) had juicy tasty fillings (4/5), the Char Siew Pau (1.10) was almost as good (3.5/5), while the Chicken Pau (2.20) paled slightly in taste to the other two (3.5/5). The Siew Mai (0.70) had the right balance between lean and fatty pork (4/5). For "dessert", the Red Bean Paste Pau (1.00) had just the right sweetness and the filling was almost bursting out with my first bite (4/5). The Lotus Paste Pau (1.00) had a lot of filling as well but was too sweet (3/5). The star of the show was the Yuan Yang Pau (2.20) - unique in its trio of well-balanced fillings, this is not something easily found in other pau stalls (5/5). While I prefer pau texture that is more springy and less doughy and dense, this is still the best I've eaten in Singapore.

Old school handmade pao. Really small and I can finish 4-5 char siew pao for breakfast.. reason I give 4 star 🌟 is because of price vs value for money. This shop has been here for a long time, in the corner of the same coffee shop. Come by if you want some old school coffee and pao breakfast or snack.

The big bao and char siew bao were among the better ones I’ve had. The problem is that for the price, they are quite small. The siew mai were above average.
