Was there after morning walk. Due to size it was very crowded. Coffee was nice. Packed roasted chicken n lotus root soup. Both were nice, will go back again but maybe on a week day.

This is one of the older hawker centres in Singapore. The ceiling is on the low side, lighting is dim and the airflow is not too good. But most of the food served here is cheap and good. You will probably find it difficult to locate another food centre serving local food at these prices.

Old school hawker center that serves some good food like Wanton mee, breakfast economic bee hoon, kway chap and many more. Used to come here after a swim at the Tanjong Rhu swimming pool accross the street. Place is clean and tidy and have a lot of nostalgic memories. Hope they dun tear it down and preserve some historical memory for us and the younger generations. No sure they open for business in the evening ?

惹兰峇株粿汁 Jalan Batu Kway Chap 01-20 - Highly recommend. This kway chap stall truly deserves praise — not just for the food, but for the people behind it. The ingredients were fresh, the portions generous, and every piece of meat, egg, and tofu soaked up that rich, aromatic braised sauce beautifully. The kway (flat rice noodles) was silky smooth, and the soup carried that comforting depth only slow, honest cooking can produce. But what left the biggest impression wasn’t just the food — it was their integrity. When my PayLah! setup failed, they simply smiled and said I could pay later. No fuss, no judgment — just trust. In a world that’s often transactional, that kind of sincerity is rare and priceless. I’m deeply grateful — not only for a great meal, but for a reminder that kindness and good food still go hand in hand.

Lots of food choices here. Today we had economic noodles as the queue wasn’t too long. Usually the queue is very long so I never bothered to queue for it. Unbelievable!!! $5 for 2 packet of noodles with 3 ‘Liao’ each pack. No wonder the queue is always super long. Noodle. Taste good too!
