The food taste great, no wonder they have like 3 other shops at other parts of Singapore. The soup taste different from the standard soup stock taste that we will usually have at standard coffeeshops. The chicken breast meat was really soft, I can even use just my tongue to disintegrate it if I want, as I am on braces. The fried tofu is really fresh and crispy on the outside, and with the sour vegetable mixture, it taste awesome. The vegetable also comes with fried onion that they make freshly, instead of those "off the shelf" one. Heard that they are going to have addition food items with the help of another famous chef with a few decades of experience, and got interviewed a few times by National TV and food guides. Looking forward to their new menus! 🫰🏼

Tried this out after seeing Greg’s Big Eats - pretty good! Had a half white steam chicken, a portion of fatty char siew (barbecued pork) and sio bak (roast crackling pork), and a dish of crystal lettuce. Chicken was elevated by its sauce, liberally spread all over, but even then, I still asked for an extra bowl of sauce, which they happily obliged. Charsiew was done KL style, none of that red sauce colouring. Had delicious bits of char on the meat and it was incredibly tender. Too bad the siobak was letdown by its not-so-crispy crackling. Perhaps I should have been here the moment it opened, so the crackling might have still been crispy. I didn’t order rice for myself but took a mouthful from my husband, and the rice was fragrant. Prices for drinks are pretty reasonable. Will be back again soon to try out their famous sesame chicken and fried wantons.

We were in the vicinity of City Square and decided to have lunch at this Charcoal Roast eatery. The chicken was tender and succulent, the noodles were springy - cooked just the way we like it, the soup was delectable and the handmade Thai tofu is a must try !

The roasted pork and duck still taste good even i dabao them to Yishun. The roasted pork is so crispy and it has a good mixture of the fats and meat. The portion is quite big, value for money. The boss and staff are friendly too. Definitely will visit this restaurant again, i believe the roasted pork, roasted duck and other food are definitely taste better if dine in.

Rating: 4.2 / 5 stars 🤩 : service 🤧 : slightly pricey, small space I visited just before lunch hour on a weekday and was greeted warmly by the team. Our order was taken at our table and served to us as well. This is impressive, considering it is very much a coffee shop. It is a good touch given that it was off-peak. Food options are a little pricey across the board, akin to that of an air-conditioned food court in town. I reckon it might have greater success with this price if it was already well known (like 88 HK Roast). That said, food quality is actually fairly spot-on. I would certainly consider it well above average. Chicken rice ($4.50) was fragrant, and meat fairly tender. Wanton mee ($5) was coated in a savoury soy sauce mix that wasn’t too salty/sweet. The char siew pieces were juicy and well charred. Fried wanton is a great touch vs the typical soup wantons. However, vegetables were overcooked and dull, and the chilli slightly underwhelming. Overall, the quality is present but undermined by the lack of value.
