Update 27/9/2021 - The food standard has dropped a lot. Not sure what happened, did they change recipe or changed owners? The claypot rice, claypot sesame chicken and claypot klang BKT tastes totally different from 4 months ago. Great tasting food but some of the staff here are seriously rude to another level. Foods here taste somewhat like Malaysia and the prices and portions are very reasonable. Three stars because of the staff’s attitude. Very conveniently located near the Farrer Park MRT (Purple Line). One can expect to spend less than $20 for 3 claypot dishes and 2 drinks.
View on GoogleFinally we got chance to try this coffee shop inside City Swuare Mall because usually it was full and crowded during lunch time. We came around 1.30pm and got a place. We ordered Chili Ban Mian $5, Curry Chicken Noodle $5, and Cendol $2.5. I like the Chili Ban Mian. The noodle is big and springy, thick broth. The star is the crispy anchovies and pork bits. Also I'd like to comment on the wooden chair. It's those type that curvy seat and very comfortable. Not many places have this kind of wooden seat. The sweet and savory cendol is a nice closing for the meal. Highly recommended.
View on GoogleCurry chicken noodles only came with 2 pieces of meat. Not sure what they doing. Chicken rice, wanton noodles and curry noodles is good. Would recommend for the taste. Claypot meetaimak very bland in taste. BKT meat was tough due to using frozen meat to cook.
View on GoogleThis is my second visit and decided to try this po pian, it is very pricey at 2.50$ and is definitely one of the top price in town. However, although the presentation looks decent, but the filling looks not packed unlike most of other, the filling is always fully packed. Also, the main ingredient, turnip are not well cooked and tasted quite bland and dry. Nothing much has put in the filling to justify the price. Definitely will not try again as you easily get a better one anywhere else. Also, the stall holder don’t even bother to ask if you need to add chilli which is usually asked by all others to avoid any misunderstanding. Today revisited this outlet and tried the curry chicken noodle. Curry is tasty and chicken is tender. And it comes with several stalk of long bean which are uncooked. Not sure if it meant for human or otherwise. Generally, while food wise is mostly reasonable but attitudes of the staff taking order is generally rude or at least unfriendly. Just for those who wish to try to fried kway tew, do not that the stall only serve with chilli and if you want non spicy version, then too bad.
View on GoogleFood is nice and reasonably priced. I like the char kuey teow, has lot of tao gay. Claypot quite okay just i feel something missing. Service staff not as friendly served without a smile or thank you, very robotic
