love the fried porridge, it is so unique! super flavourful. especially enjoyed the yam chunks. chaotah beehoon is not bad too, although less memorable. the KL hokkien mee paled in comparison to the above 2 - the dark sauce lacked depth of flavour. would recommend ordering the harcheongkai too

[JALAN BESAR, SINGAPORE] Everyone, I think I have found another great hidden zichar restaurant in the heart of the Jalan Besar region! Even though this was a tasting, I enjoyed the food alot and I will be back again 😍 If @dynasty_fried_porridge calls themselves this way, their Dynasty Famous Fried Porridge 🍲 ($8.50 for small portion) should be good. True enough, it was very smoky and had a strong umami. It wasn't too salty either, and I appreciated the little bits of yam within that added texture to this dish! What's even better is their Hong Shao Braised Pork Stir Fried Bee Hoon 🍜 ($11) which was so flavourful. It had a good wok hei, and they managed to not make the noodles soggy! The meat was very tender as well. For sides, their Prawns Paste Wings 🍗 ($13 for smal portion) was really a great accomplishment. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, I liked how it wasn't too salty and yet delivered the umami we expect from prawn paste. What's even better was their Salted Egg Sotong 🦑, as it was so crispy, and yet the squid within wasn't overcooked! The squid pieces tasted very fresh and didn't seem frozen. When all dishes are hits, you know their chef really has the skills. I can't wait to bring my friends and family here! Thank you @dynasty_fried_porridge for the invite 😁

I can’t believe it took me this long to try fried porridge. It was surprisingly delicious, with the pork lard, yam, and subtle sweetness from the squid coming together beautifully to create a rich and comforting bowl full of flavour. The san lor bee hoon was great too, and the fried pork was absolute perfection. I will definitely be back for the porridge and to try more dishes next time.

Located at 30 Foch Road, Dynasty Fried Porridge is known for its unique dishes that blend Malaysian flavors with a local twist. Below is a review of four dishes we tried a) Dynasty Famous Fried Porridge The Dynasty Famous Fried Porridge is a signature dish that has garnered much acclaim. This dish features a thick and gooey texture, achieved by frying the porridge in a wok which customers can witness his fire cooking skills before serving it in a clay pot. It includes an assortment of ingredients such as pork slices, shrimp, taro, and crispy fried shallots, all generously topped with pork lard. The porridge boasts a deep smoky flavor, enhanced by the wok hei aroma. It strikes a perfect balance between rich and savory without being overly salty, making it a comforting choice, especially on rainy days. b) Malaysia Black Mee The Malaysia Black Mee, also known as KL-style Hokkien Mee, features thick yellow noodles that are well-coated in a dark soy sauce gravy, giving them a slippery and chewy texture reminiscent of udon. The dish is garnished with cabbage, tender pork slices, shrimp, and crispy pork lards. We love its robust savory flavors and the satisfying combination of textures. c) Signature Tasty Fried Pork The pork is typically marinated and then fried to achieve a crispy exterior while maintaining tenderness inside. We like its umami-rich taste, complemented by a slight sweetness from the marinade. d) Fried Sweet Potato Leaves with Sambal The sweet potato leaves are stir-fried until tender yet still crisp, providing a vibrant green color that makes for an appealing presentation. Tossed with sambal, this dish delivers a robust herbal note that pairs well with the earthy bitterness of the leaves. The addition of garlic adds another layer of flavor, making it both aromatic and delicious. Overall, Dynasty Fried Porridge stands out for its unique offerings that reflect Malaysian culinary traditions. Each dish is crafted with care, showcasing bold flavors and satisfying textures.
