chanced upon this unpretentious restaurant serving up hearty food at amazingly reasonable prices. staff were all friendly, and food came out quickly. ambience is also very calming, like a homely shop tried their grilled bone marrow (very hard to find this dish in singapore!!) and it was amazing 🤯 😋 highly recommend to give it a try. but order it first and be patient, as it takes a while to prepare my friend and i both enjoyed our set lunches very much. no service charge, no GST. can pay by credit card, wechat, favepay, shopback, paynow. such a hidden gem. will be back 💯🤗 -- special mention: their kitchen is neat, tidy, clean, and toilets are very clean as well. this place is obviously well taken care of by their staff!

Had a great experience at China Taste! We were so excited to find a pet-friendly Chinese BBQ spot, and it definitely lived up to our expectations. The BBQ skewers and Chinese dishes were all delicious, with generous portions and authentic flavours. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was casual and welcoming. One of our favourite little touches was the wall filled with quirky Chinese quote signs,it made the place feel really fun and gave us a good laugh while waiting for our food If you're looking for a pet-friendly place to enjoy Chinese BBQ in Singapore, we'd definitely recommend giving China Taste a try. We'll definitely be back with our pup! 🐾

Dinner about 9 pm. I needed to break my Cantonese habit. Tyrwhitt Road in Jalan Besar was the right place to do it. At the terracotta-tiled terrace, look up, above the awnings of craft coffee, sourdough and beer. You’ll see almost one hundred years of Chinese kinship and trade. The end shophouse, China Taste continued that mainland authenticity and delivered it to my table with a touch of Singapore. Inside, homely eating is the centre, whether you’re in a group or as I was, solo. Self-labelled BBHQ, it had the charcoal covered, with dozens of tempting items. The a la carte was Sichuan, Chongqing and up to Xinjiang. Pig skin skewers, salty, crispy then gelatinous inside. Generous ribs, beef caramelised, dry-finished and it fell off the bones. A razor clam, sweet and tender, garlic and fresh chilli tang. Pig brain custardy, two fatty curds in deep, dark Sichuan-pepper oil. Cumin beef, fragrant, warm and earthy, slightly smoky toasted by the wok. In between I pecked at the dry, crispy dice of Chongqing chicken, fragrant warmth, buried in the rustling mountain of dried chillies. I read later not to eat those dried chillies. Fortunately I gave up. Swallows of cold Tiger. Perfect.

中国好味道 (China Taste) has recently undergone a small renovation, giving the interior a more modern and cleaner look compared to before. I dined there recently and the food was enjoyable. The Dan Dan Mian, served with a light clear soup, was delicious, and the vegetables and mushrooms were fresh and flavourful.

The dishes were very authentic and well-seasoned. Ingredients tasted fresh, and every dish was full of wok hei. Portion size was generous and worth the price. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Chinese food. 真的很好吃，有锅气！
