Dinner dated 27 Feb 2026. Ordered pork organ soup $5 and braised pork rice $3. The sticky wooden table gave me the nostalgic feeling immediately when I placed my arm on it. Used to drink nearby Jalan besar area with friends and would have supper at this eatery when it was located at Sam Leong Road. The pork meat and pork organ tasted fresh, with no overwhelming porky smell. The picked mustard tasted light, not too salty. The few pieces of bean curd I recalled would dissolve when I picked with spoon. But this visit, they were firm which was good, as I was able to eat enjoy the whole piece. The broth however tasted light, not sweet like before. But a refill of soup was different it was sweet. Braised pork and chill tasted the same. Nothing to comment. Lastly, all the best to the boss of the eatery, as 28 Feb 2026 will be the last day of operation.

Lunch review dated 28 February. I never thought I have to say this but I had my last bowl of soup today after hearing the news that they are closing down. I’ve grown up eating this soup and to hear it close down is indeed really sad, all the best to the big boss, the pig organ soup I've eaten since I was little until I grew up, I will always remember it. 😢.

Location, location, location! Despite just a stone throw away from its previous location. The moved from the main road to a side road just opposite was enough to break their business, just as I learned of their current location in the same news that also disclose their impending closure. Those who vouch by its nearby competitor at Foch Rd believed that they had good fortune from their previous prominent main road site as it might have lure some of its customers that struggle to find the Foch Rd stall which is also at a side road. But imo, the Pig Organ Soup from both places are comparable. However, I do prefer the sides at Foch Rd while over here they are mostly pricey and forgettable. The Braised Pork Rice I had today while nice was rather exorbitant at $3 as a side, especially to those who mostly order it just to add some flavor to the plain white rice to compliment the soup.

Rainy days call for a comforting bowl of hot soup and this simple, old-school eatery delivers just that. The space is airy and well-ventilated, makes a pleasant dining experience without feeling stuffy. The tiled floors add to its nostalgic charm, giving off a classic hawker feel. The pig organs soup ($5) broth isn’t overly salty. The pork is tender and the pig stomach is unexpectedly soft, unlike some places where it tends to be chewy and difficult to bite. This well balanced bowl is warming and satisfying on a cool day. The braised pork rice ($3) may come in a small portion but it makes up for it with its rich, flavorful sauce. The pork and fat are well-balanced, soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture. The egg with salted radish ($4.50) is light and fluffy without being too oily. The salted radish adds a nice touch of savouriness without overpowering the egg. The pickled vegetables with peanuts ($3.20) was a surprise, it’s not something commonly seen for me. Though not a huge fan of pickled vegetables but this one was nice. The salted fish steamed meat patty ($5.50) had a soft texture but the salted fish flavor was almost nonexistent. Without that distinct flavour, it felt more like a regular meat patty. A stronger salted fish presence would have elevated the dish and made it stand out more. Overall, the meal was satisfying and though some dishes could be refined further, it was the perfect comfort food for a rainy day.
