Very Disappointing Experience – Poor Food Quality and Even Worse Service I recently visited Anapoorna Restaurant in Singapore after seeing its high ratings, hoping for a good South Indian meal. I usually dine at Saravana Bhavan, but decided to try something new. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a very disappointing experience. Despite visiting over the weekend, the restaurant was almost empty, which in hindsight should have been a sign. We ordered a set meal (SGD 23) was very basic and a masala dosa (SGD 9) with service tax and gst The food quality was poor and the curries were excessively salty, and overall the meal did not taste fresh. When I politely pointed out the high salt level to a staff member (Ashwini), the response was dismissive and rude. I was told to “eat it with rice so it will be fine,” which is not an acceptable way to address customer feedback. What made the experience worse was the behavior of the staff, particularly Ashwini and Mani. Their attitude was unprofessional and lacked basic courtesy. While one can sometimes overlook average food, poor service and rude behavior make the entire experience unacceptable. There are many pure vegetarian options nearby in Singapore that offer far better food, value, and hospitality in lower price . In comparison, places like Saravana Bhavan consistently maintain both quality and service with and price is low as compared to this , even when crowded. Anapoorna, on the other hand, is more expensive than several nearby vegetarian restaurants, yet fails on both food and service. I genuinely do not understand how this restaurant has such high ratings. Based on my experience, I would not recommend it at all. Not worth your time or money.

Authentic Pure Vegetarian Cuisine. You can have North Indian and South Indian food here in this restaurant. Staffs are friendly and kind. Their service is great. Will come back next time. Good atmosphere for friends and family.

We came around 4 pm on 25 June 2026. We ordered Tosai and masala Tosai. Both took around 20 min to be on table. The sambar was so watery and chutney was cold to eat. The plating was terrible.

We regret not coming here sooner. We went to Saravana Bhavan and expected good food there but got disappointed. This place is great. We went at night and they said they only have dosa left. We ordered plain dosa and told them to put less oil and less spice for the sambar as well since we will feed our baby. They followed the instructions! They also have baby seat and the staff are so friendly and accomodating. The food is also good. I enjoyed it and the dosa is crispy! There might be waiting time if it's peak hours but overall a good place to eat.
