We tried this Taiwanese zi char restaurant and overall it was a pretty good experience. It’s a modern take on Taiwanese food, and they also have a bar inside serving craft beers and cocktails. We went in without much expectation, but the food turned out better than we thought. Staff were also friendly and attentive. We ordered quite a few dishes to share. The mini bun-dle was fun with different buns, and the beef noodles stood out with tender meat and flavourful broth. The san bei mushrooms were also one of our favourites, and the spicy dumplings had a nice bite and texture. Other dishes like the winter melon pork ribs soup, mapo tofu, and vegetables were decent and comforting. We also ended with the peanut ice cream roll, which felt like a nice Taiwanese street snack. Overall, a solid place for sharing food with friends or family.

Nice boutique set-up in the area where there are plenty of food options. Probably 16 tables. A little packed and business was very good when we were there on a Saturday between 8 to 9pm. Staff were very polite. Can't comment on other dishes but it was average to above average for the 3 dishes that we ordered. The X large crispy pork was a little disappointing. Maybe it is a style of Taiwanese cooking which I must have forgotten. Or the starch is too much? The pickles don't go well with the pork lard, for me at least. Should have a choice to remove.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. We made a reservation at 11.30am and arrived on time with smiley friendly staff greeting us. They served us with menu and explanation on the dishes, very detailed and service oriented. Food taste was on point and deliciously cooked. I can see most of the food has taken effort in preparation to make it not only look good but taste good too. This explains why the lunch crowd is full during our dining here. Affordable lunch and would come back soon for another meal to try out other dishes. 👍👍👍

We had a really enjoyable dining experience here, with food that goes well beyond expections. We ordered a variety of dishes, and a few truly stood out. The Niu Yolk fried rice was fragrant, especially with the rich truffle aroma that made it extra indulgent. The kai lan had that perfect wok hei that was smoky, aromatic and cooked just right. The gong bao squid was flavourful, tender and well balanced. To wrap up the meal, the peanut and black sesame roll was a great choice. It was fragrant and not overly sweet with a pleasantly chewy texture. The vibe of the place is cozy and welcoming, making it a nice spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Service was also commendable with staffs that were friendly and offered recommendations that really enhanced our dining experience.

Second visit to Abundance and it still hits the spot. We were here just two weeks ago at their Lengkok Bahru outlet, but the Jalan Besar branch definitely stands out — more spacious and brighter, which made the whole dining experience more comfortable. Food-wise, the beef noodle remains the star of the show. No doubt about it — rich, flavourful broth with tender, melt-in-your-mouth beef that keeps you going back for more. It’s one of those dishes that feels both hearty and satisfying without being overly heavy. We also tried the peanut ice cream this round, and it was such a pleasant surprise. Creamy, nutty, and goes well with coriander — a simple dessert done really well, and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, still very impressed. Good food, better ambience at this outlet — definitely a place worth returning to again.
