San Lou beehoon 2/5 disappointing. $8, not much ingredients, dry. Flavour was not there. Salted egg chicken rice $7.8. Chicken was a tad dry and hard. Sauce was decent, not particularly fragrant. Overall disappointed. Had some aircon seats which was good.

I have been eating at this place a couple of times. The salted egg chicken is their signature dishes. Almost every table ordered. I personally like the sweet and sour pork. The pork is not the very hard one and with ‘meat’ , not those that mostly are fat or only coated with the fried hard coating. 👍🏻 Apr 2026 - price are still very reasonable. Ordered the sweet and sour fish with additional fish and egg which costs $7 + $3 + $0.80 = $10.80. The taste is good, but the portion is no longer worth it. Used to have more fish slices, now with additional fish it is only 6 fish slices as seen in the photo. Assuming that the additional fish slices is 3 pieces for $3, it means the original plate would only have 3 slices for $7.

Nice meal and great value for money all these dishes and drinks came to just $56. Portions were generous, prices were reasonable, and the overall dining experience was enjoyable. Definitely a place worth returning to.

2025 Nov - Black Pepper Beef and Sambal Sweet Potato Leaf Zhi char place with good quality control. Dishes from this spot are always above a certain baseline quality. A lot of places in Singapore didn't use to cook beef well, but this has improved over time. That said, this shop passed the beef test with flying colors. 2025 Sept - Yang Zhou Fried Rice was simple and plain. Could have been generous and included some ingredients.
