Had an excellent authentic Singaporean meal at this little neighbourhood coffee shop. Awesome freshly made noodles with deliciously succulent and soft bouncy fishballs!
View on GoogleChanced upon this coffee shop after my doctor's visit at the nearby Farrer Park hospital. Was craving some soupy food, and happened to see some good reviews for the Ah Lang Prawn Noodles stall here. Wasn't expecting anything mind blowing, considering this is Rangoon Road and the nearby area can be quite messy. For what it's worth, the food here did meet my expectations as a coffee shop meal; can't really complain.
View on GoogleI had a really delicious dinner after a movie at one of the western stalls—Western Wrestler! I would highly recommend their spring chicken as it is well-seasoned and crisps in the right areas. The chicken was hot and crispy just the way my family and I love it! They were very generous with their cheese on the fries unlike most western stalls. We had more than enough cheese to coat all the fries and that is the best kind of cheese fries a fry lover could ask for. We also had lamb chop and their wrestler chicken chop with black pepper sauce. It was rich and flavourful which surprised me because a lot of western stalls serve them diluted. With good reason because it helps them to save costs. Spoke with the store owners and they said it’s a house recipe and they also didn’t like to serve it diluted. I was surprised to learn that their coleslaw was made from scratch and the ingredients had to be cut and mixed daily. Non of which came store bought or pre-made from a supplier. The price point of the food is pretty average across western stalls in Singapore and with the standard of quality, it is worth it to give it a try and a bang for your buck! You can drop by the coffeeshop for some delicious food before going opposite for a good cold brew coffee from old hen cafe to chill!
View on GoogleChicken rice shop is so dirty, i had white chicken rice and the chicken was super tough. then next day whole day diarrhea. Singapore food authorities need to check and investigate.
View on GoogleFor $1.50 for an egg prata, the price is super worth it. The texture and crispiness is just right! Don't miss this prata shop here that is run by a friendly Thambi! Also, you can get a bowl of Lor Mee, China Style, for just $5!
