Our family recently had the pleasure of dining at Chef Foong, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. The Cantonese cuisine was magnificent. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, showcasing the elegance and refinement that great Cantonese cooking is known for. The flavours were delicate, balanced, and never overpowering, allowing the freshness and quality of the ingredients to shine through. From the silky tofu with mushrooms to the beautifully prepared vegetables and comforting braised dishes, each plate reflected the chef’s attention to detail and culinary craftsmanship. The restaurant also offers a wonderful ambience. The dining space is spacious, clean, and well-lit, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for families and groups. The setting feels relaxed yet refined, making it easy to enjoy both the food and each other’s company. What impressed us equally was the service. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our meal. It was especially refreshing to be served by staff who could converse fluently in Cantonese, adding a warm and authentic touch to the overall dining experience. Chef Foong delivers the complete package—excellent food, a pleasant dining atmosphere, and heartfelt hospitality. If you appreciate authentic Cantonese cuisine prepared with finesse and care, this is a restaurant well worth visiting. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and look forward to returning again with our family. Highly recommended for anyone seeking quality Cantonese cuisine!
View on GoogleLatest update: Our first visit to Restaurant by Chef Wang was a great experience—the food was delicious, which is why we decided to return for lunch during Chinese New Year. Unfortunately, our second visit was the complete opposite. The dishes were overwhelmingly salty, to the point that they were difficult to enjoy. On top of that, the customer service was practically non-existent, even though the restaurant wasn't fully occupied. It was a very disappointing experience. There won't be a third visit for us. >> Absolutely delicious — a proper Chinese feast done right! Had a satisfying family meal at Restaurant by Chef Foong. Overall, the food was flavourful, hearty, and well prepared. Highlights from our table: Scallop Fried Rice — fragrant, fluffy, and well seasoned, with generous scallop pieces and no greasiness. Steamed Fish with garlic and sauce — fresh and tender fish, though the sauce leaned on the saltier side. Still enjoyable, especially with rice. Braised Tofu with Broccoli — smooth tofu in a rich, savoury gravy; comforting and satisfying. Stir-fried Prawns — bold flavours, nicely coated and cooked just right. Roasted meats platter — crispy pork belly, roast duck, and char siew were all well executed with good texture and flavour. Mango Pomelo Sago dessert (served cold) — slightly on the sweeter side, but the perfect palate cleanser after a hearty meal. Comforting, tasty, and worth coming back for. 😋👏
View on GoogleHonestly not sure why there are mixed reviews because everything was a 10/10 for me and my family. Celebrated two birthdays here and the staff was super accommodating and kind. Best of all the food was incredible. We had the peking duck, which was crispy and juicy and opted for the meat to be done salt and pepper style. Awesome choice. Also loved the bi feng tang prawn - so juicy and succulent. The black pepper beef cooked in red wine was also an absolute highlight. We also loved the truffle ee fu mian. Honestly all hits no misses. They should be way more popular than they are for the quality of the food and the comfortable environment. We will be coming back for sure

View on Google$58 Peking duck on a Saturday afternoon? What a steal. I was hesitant after reading some mixed reviews, but wow — this was absolutely worth it. Just look at the video — the skin was incredibly thin and crisp, exactly how it should be. Since it was just the two of us, we didn’t get to try many dishes, but we opted to use the duck meat for fried rice. That turned out to be a brilliant decision — full of wok hei, generous portions, and honestly enough to feed five hungry people. We ended up packing the rest home. Super value for money. I’m already planning my next visit to try the rest of the menu!
