RUSTICA Singapore
Is a cozy, farm-to-table restaurant in Lavender, helmed by Chef Adrian Chu. It reimagines traditional Singaporean cuisine using fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced directly from local farms and fishermen like Ah Hua Kelong and GreenLoopFarms.

I came across Rustica and their concept caught my attention. Every dish features ingredients sourced from local farmers and fishermen. Plus, they accept CDC vouchers too. The Apam Berkuah is definitely the highlight of the night. Charred goreng pisang, pillowy apam, warm gula melaka sauce, and coconut ice cream melting slowly on top. Hot, cold, and sweet, all in one bowl. Would love to try their kaya toast next time. The Golden Seabass with Ginger-Scallion is so fragrant. The black fungus has this nice firm snappy bite. The fish itself is fresh and has a clean taste. It flaked apart beautifully, moist and tender all the way through. The Hainanese Curry Crispy Breaded Chicken comes with crispy chicken and a mildly spiced curry that's rich but not too heavy. The pickled cabbage slaw on the side cuts through beautifully. The Grandpa's Ngoh Hiang has a super crispy beancurd skin with a well-seasoned prawn and chicken filling. Pairs perfectly with the chili. The Fragrant Bluepea Shallot Rice is fragrant and topped with fried shallots. The Arnold Palmer is a black tea with lemonande. It is refreshing and not too sweet.
View on GooglePassed by this place and seen it a few times in the past year, but never tried it before. It's our first time trying it, and it feels like a hidden gem to us. A twist of Singaporean local delights, presented in a modern style while still retaining traditional flavors. We rated the Hainanese Curry with Crispy Breaded Chicken — the curry is so thick and flavorful, yet not overwhelming, and the chicken is tender and juicy, even though it's chicken breast. The owner mentioned that they don't use any frozen ingredients here. I personally love the Cereal Fish Bun. The sauce tastes like McDonald's (even better), yet it doesn't overpower the cereal-coated fish. Everything we had (shown in the picture) was great — each dish had its own uniqueness, from the specially crafted beer to the handmade drinks. The menu clearly explains the ingredients and the flavor profile of each dish. The owners and staff make sure you're well taken care of, both with the food and their warm service. The prices are so affordable, with great value for the quality. This is what I'd call a modern tze char place — it shouldn't be hidden. We'll be back again to try other items on the menu.
View on Googlewas invited to try Harvested SG’s Breakfast Club at Rustica and honestly, this was such a comforting breakfast spot. they’re doing a farm-to-table breakfast menu and everything felt fresh, simple and actually done well. my favourite was definitely the Toast on Mushrooms. it sounds basic but it was so flavourful, especially with the perfectly runny egg. i would honestly come back just for this. the Harvested Breakfast Plate was also really solid, with a nicely cooked beef patty and omelette, while the Roasted Pork Sandwich had tender pork and crispy skin which gave it such a nice texture. the Morning Hotcake was yummy too, especially with the toppings, but i personally felt the hotcakes were a little dry and dense. drinks were nice overall, especially the Vanilla Bean Latte which was light enough even for someone like me who doesn’t usually drink coffee. the Housemade Lemonade was a little too sour for my liking but very refreshing, and the Aerocano had a stronger, cleaner coffee taste that my mum really enjoyed. ambience wise, the space felt homely yet modern, and the staff were soooo welcoming. they even explained each dish one by one, which i really appreciated. overall, definitely a breakfast spot i would return to when i’m in town, especially for the mushroom toast.
View on GoogleA great find for Singaporean‑style inspired dishes, and definitely love that they are supporting local produces. I especially enjoyed the curry fish and the cereal fish bun. The place wasn’t crowded on a weekend, and we were seated right away at lunchtime. Service was excellent and the staff checked in on us frequently. The prices are definitely on a higher side, but the experience makes it worth a visit.
View on GoogleWow Rustica nails the whole farm-to-table thing, everything we ordered was excellent. The ngoh hiang came tender and juicy inside, crispy outside, which beats the usual dry ones. Their crab chilli bun had real heat, and the fried crab tasted fresh. The drunken chicken and the dry laksa was flavourful and the tiger prawn was huge and clearly hadn’t been sitting around. I read that the chef sources obsessively and committed to sourcing from only local farms. The dishes were clearly cooked with lots of heart and thought behind it. And the overall quality for the price point is totally reasonable. It was packed on Sunday lunch, which is a good sign. Will definitely return! I also appreciated that they were okay with turning down the volume of the music as I’m more sensitive 🥹
