Recommended by my son who has dined there previously and was raving about the food. Not disappointed. Good crowd building up in the evening when we arrived. Managed to get a table and placed the orders. Ordered a variety of their popular choices. The chicken schnitzel in particular is awesome. Portions are huge and prices are super reasonable. Definitely worth returning to sample other dishes.
View on GoogleWas brought here by my teacher for dinner. Can see that quite a number of people ordered from the same stall. The dishes were served in large portion with one main and two sides, cost around $7-9+. Quite affordable for that large portion. Pork Chop was served in two pieces of thin layer topped with gravy and selective two sides and with a garlic🍞. Certain part of the pork may be a bit tougher, but other part with fats will be much more tender and chewy. Chicken Chop With Mushroom Sauce was so tendered and juicy. And it's best match with the mushroom sauce. Garlic bread was perfectly toasted and crunchy. Fish Steak was well marinated in Japanese style. Just that it's portion was smaller and thinner. Chicken Chop is much thicker and tender. Spaghetti 🍝 was so-so only, the tomato sauce doesn't match well with the spaghetti. Overall, it's pretty worth a try! Food was served quick too~
View on GoogleWas shared that this Western Store served food is delicious and valued for the portion served. Have managed to grab lunch over here with colleagues and the reviews were on the spot. Despite having lunch during peak hours here on a Friday afternoon, the store managed to handle well the orders and served them up rather fast (within 10mins). Would recommend to those who love western food to visit this place.
View on GoogleCustomer service was great! Short waiting time tho it was packed! Table service was provided. Chops were amazing. The Potato salad and Mash was great! Chicken and pork was nice and tender. Garlic bread added some crisp to the meal! So worth the price.
View on GoogleA quick Google search on "Happy Chef Singapore" brings up a few articles that cover this somewhat renowned western food stall. It is mentioned they had an acclaimed restaurant in Sydney and then returned home to open this stall. When exactly, is still unknown. Their extensive menu shows hints of their influence from Australia that sets them apart from regular western food stalls here as shown with items like Chicken Kiev and Schnitzel on offer. Though the fancy names, their price point isn't reflective of ang moh prices even in today's inflated economy! I believe lamb chops set you back just $8.50 - a dish my father never fails to order whenever we decide to dine here. Many mentions of the Schnitzel being huge, and a peek at other tables orders confirm that to be a fact. Each order comes with 2 sides of your choice, in which I personally find the potato salad to be of very very good taste. They use small baby potatoes with skin on that aren't overcooked, not drenched in sauce, and mixed with cilantro for a herbaceous tinge and visual appeal. I reckon this side dish beats the offering at places like Collin's, Aston's, and even some cafes! Atmosphere aside (cramped tables and subpar ventilation), this establishment really sets a very high bar overall with its extremely difficult-to-beat price point and value for money. Taste wise it also doesn't lose out to any other hawker western I can think of. My family and I have been back multiple times to dine and have never regretted doing so. Oh and for those in the family who don't fancy western food, the economical rice store offers a lot of variety that includes several types of fish, prawn, and other delectable dishes at VERY cheap prices. So enjoy your food, and you're very welcome. @goodfoodwrite - instagram & YouTube
