First time trying this place. It’s a Hakka Chinese fusion restaurant. Have both indoor and outdoor seatings. Was served by a v polite Burmese staff who could speak relatively fluent mandarin. Ordered the Hong Shao Rou ($22), golden egg tofu in Mapo sauce ($15) and a seafood white vermicelli ($25). I think the highlight here is the 1-1 draught beer for $12! It’s a full pint btw..no cheater half pint glasses..Sapporo Blanc and black and another brand I can’t rmb available on tap. The food is normal to be honest. Slightly pricier than your outside zhi char but not necc tastier. The hong shao rou is very fatty, but the lean meat part is abit tough. Tofu with mapo sauce is alright.. nth to shout about. The vermicelli is a big portion but mostly really is just vermicelli. Ingredients include 3 big tiger prawns and a couple of sotong pieces. The broth also tasted abit bland. Total bill for 2 pax comes to about 90 bux nett inclusive of 2 bias. I had way better chi food for this price. I enjoyed the bia and the atmosphere though.
View on GoogleGreat selection of Hakka dishes, each was made with care and in generous portions. Appreciated the attentive service and it was a very nice environment for conversations too. A bonus that they’re part of The Social Kitchen :)
View on GoogleVery good first experience at the Zing restaurant. The abacus was really tasty and you can really taste the nice yam flavour. The Zing Superior Fish Soup With Seafood And Crispy Rice was light but flavourful. Absolutely delicious! The Baked Salted Chicken 烤咸鸡 came shredded, was tasty but a little dry. The Okinawa Black Sugar & Walnut Beetroot Tang Yuan In Ginger Soup was a tad sweet. I love the Green Tea Sesame Tang Yuan In Ginger Soup. The sesame paste was so smooth and the ginger soup was at the right consistency. Service staff were very friendly and helpful and the place was not overly packed and the tables are well spaced apart.
View on GoogleFood was great. We had the XO fried rice, the caramelised eggplant, the jackfruit prawns, the French beans and Yong Tau Foo. All good. Maybe the eggplant was maybe a tad sweet, a little contrast with spicy hae bee or fried shallots or just tiny cuts of chilli would have been perfect. The jackfruit prawns were epic. The sauce they came in was divine enough to eat on its own. The jackfruit was a lovely surprise, not overwhelming and complementary to the prawns. There’s a promo on beer, two pints for $12. So the service - we went on a rainy day. I asked to sit inside but all tables were “reserved”. So we sat outside where an awning sheltered us from the pitter patter. When the rain got worse, no one came to ask if we were ok. We shifted the table away from the splashes that came off the inadequate awning to prevent getting more wet. The inside of the restaurant still had unoccupied tables then. We didn’t stay for dessert.
View on GoogleFirst time ordering these from home! Taste the same as dine in. I craved for their La Zi Ji and pomelo salad from time to time. The pomelo salad is the best thing in this world because of the juicy pomelo and the salad sauce taste like kumquat! La Zi Ji is also my favorite. Their is not oily like others and the ingredients taste really fresh! Overall the quality and taste is definitely awesome and I love how they pack their sauce item so it won't leak. Thank you chef for the great tasting dishes. ❤️
