After 2 friends sent me the CNA article about Laksa Siglap knowing how I’m always game to try ‘forgotten’ good food, I made a point to hurry to this Warung who was named but not listed as it sounded like the author wanted to keep a secret. Must be good right?! Well, being the second person at the shop on a Saturday morning meant I didn’t have to queue. But my large takeaway order meant quite a few had to wait in line (sorry!). The laksa Siglap’s gravy was indeed different to Laksa Nonya and Penang Laksa. My brother felt it tasted like Laksa Sarawak. With a bit more fish in the rempah it would have been out of this world. I should have ordered the normal Mee Siam with gravy as the dry version was just bee hoon stir fried with sambal but not enough assam or sambal, and no chives or bean sprouts. Not what I was expecting. The lontong campur composed of several lontong pieces with rendang, sambal goreng, ikan bilis and egg. If I had known better, I would have just chosen my favourite Padang dishes on display (see video). Overall the quality of food was quite good. The Muslim lady and her friend behind me in the queue said she also came because of good reviews. So would I come all this way again? Hmmm. Probably, just to try the other yummy looking Padang dishes!

My office is right next to *Kak Ani Warung Selera*, so it's always been convenient for me to settle lunch here. The food aroma is inviting every time I walk past — from the bus stop to the office. I often crave their mihun, and I must say, the food usually satisfies me. *However, the attitude and inconsistent pricing are a major letdown.* For example (3 pictures attached): - Mihun with a fried egg cost me *$5*. - Mihun with *just petai* was quoted at *$6*, which shocked me. I still paid, but my colleague encouraged me to ask why a single veg item could be that expensive. The lady then told me, “Oh, it should be $4,” and tried to return *only $1* instead of $2. When I questioned it, she said, “It should be $5.” So in a span of seconds, the price changed *three times* — that’s quite unbelievable. - Another time, I ordered mihun with a *fried chicken wing*, and she charged me *$7* (3 for mihun + $4 for the wing). Again, I was stunned but paid anyway. It’s always the *same lady* serving me — she’s *not the boss* — and this inconsistent pricing happens too often. Honestly, it makes me feel like there might be *prejudice against non-Malay customers*, as the prices seem to vary unfairly. The food is good, but the poor service and lack of pricing transparency are very disappointing.

Due to the Changi hawker closed for cleaning, I chanced upon this eatery <20m from the hawker and I was blown away by the flavours, value for money sets & affordable drinks. Nasi Rawon gravy over the rice made with black keluak nut is rich & earthy. The rarely seen Serunding Kelapa (Spiced Coconut Floss) taste fresh and elevates my rawon set to the next level of satisfaction.

Due to my elderly parents and my work commitments, we searched high and low for Ramadhan Tingkat and stumbled upon Warung Selera, upon mention by a friend. My verdict? OMG! You really should give it a try! They manage to capture the essence of each and every one of their dish! Their 'Sotong Masak Hitam' is amongst the best that I have tasted! Service wise, since ours is home delivery, is exceptional too! They NEVER missed a beat even though I am certain their orders are a LOT. Come the time, my Mum will have her food at the gate. Well done Warung Selera! Really well done! Thank YOU for the great food! :) (and nope! Not sponsored or anythg! Just a very grateful customer)

Have not been to Geylang for quite a while and even more unfortunate when the hawker center is closed for cleaning. However, while passing through Changi road, I saw a new signboard that says authentic Malay dishes and I quickly parked my bike at the nearest carpark. When I finally arrived, the place was already jam-packed with patrons. So I queue up like any other foodie to find out what this eating place dishes taste like. I ordered Nasi Rawon and Nasi Ambeng Beef Rendang. Both cost $8 each. Cash and Paynow payment mode are available here. Self-service here, for your info. After receiving our food, we quickly dug in and were very impressed. The food was very flavourful and very authentic. No cutting corners on the ingredients. The beef rendang was so tender and I mean it. No joke. I can confidently say they use fresh ingredients for all their dish menu and I can taste them in the dish. Overall, I will come again to eat but maybe at an earlier time to avoid crowds. I am very glad that this new place produces authentic Malay dishes and sets the highest standard. My only concern is, the premise is a bit small. Might need to shift or take over another stall if they intend to expand. Kudos to warung selera. Thumbs up for me. Will come back and taste other dishes in the near future.
