My family and I had such a special and memorable experience visiting this Peranakan home museum. We booked in for The Intan Peranakan Tea Experience under our Culture Passes (thanks Singapore Government!) and was severed tea and kueh, which made the entire experience even more delightful and welcoming. Alvin is a very charismatic guide who is clearly passionate and eager to share his heritage with visitors. He happily took our many questions and we had great conversations along the way. As fellow Peranakans, we found the experience especially meaningful and poignant - it felt like a beautiful connection to our own roots. The stories, artefacts, and personal touches throughout the home made the visit feel intimate and authentic. Truly a unique and heartfelt experience that we would highly recommend!
View on GoogleStepping behind the doors of this humble 2-storey home museum felt like entering a hidden treasure trove. I was truly blown away by Alvin's extensive collection and felt very honoured to have secured a slot for the visit. From vintage spittoons and tiffin carriers to beautifully crafted beaded shoes, every item was thoughtfully displayed and lovingly preserved. You can clearly sense the passion, dedication and stories behind each piece. What makes this place special is not just the collection itself, but Alvin's heart and commitment to preserving heritage and sharing it with visitors. A meaningful and eye-opening experience. Highly encouraged to visit and support his cause if you ever get the opportunity.

View on GoogleHad a personal Peranakan experience at The Intan, which gave me a deeper understanding of the culture. It was a chill and enjoyable weekend activity, perfect for something a little different. The kueh and tea were also nice!
View on GoogleAlvin is a gracious host, showing us his collection of antiques and fascinating us with anecdotes of what is means to be a Peranakan and psyche of one. You will not be disappointed with the way he passionately shares his growing-up stories and how he amassed his collection of artefacts. Every corner of his house is filled with something to discover and a tale to tell. As colleagues on a learning journey and team bonding event, we enjoyed our afternoon at The Intan tremendously.
