A hidden zhi char stall gem along Joo Chiat. Good customer service (please be patient with the service staff) and the dishes are excellent (chef and team work hard to perfect their craft). My family had a really good time. Do visit them soon before they are gone. I highly recommend these three dishes. 1) salted egg pork ribs, it is so tender and flavorful. 2) hot-plate tofu portion is generous and well-marinated chill pork sauce that enhances the taste of both tofu and fried egg. 3) fried prawn-paste wings are so crispy with a tempura-like-batter, hot and finger-licking good.

First time so tried all the signature dishes. Claypot mee tai mak and KL hokkien mee were decent with generous amount of pork lard. Could have stronger wok hey. Chicken soup (with wine) was pretty good - worth a try. Salted egg pork ribs was the star of the night - tender and flavourful, with good crunchy crust. All dishes ordered were small size. Bill came up to $66 with 2 drinks.

Their signature claypot lao Shu Fen is a must get. The flavour profile is one of a kind. Furthermore their fried Hokkien mee was fried with generous amounts of pork lard. No complaints there. The marmite pork and prawn paste chicken is amazing as well. Though the prawn paste chicken doesn’t have the best color, don’t be deceived by its looks. It’s flavourful.

Good zichar around Katong and even better than those at Marine Parade. Will be back here and recommended! I walked pass that day after having a terrible dinner at Chilli Padi (ew see my review) and I saw a lot of people eating here. Ambience was great; very clean, air-conditioned and brightly lit. Service was great; staffs were very courteous, attentive and fast. Food was awesome; everything was served really hot and tasted great. Price is good too. Salted egg chicken: usually I prefer those creamy sauce type to those dry crispy kind because it’s usually very very dry. To my surprise, it’s very soft and crispy! Nice! Hot plate tofu was very fragrant too. Sambal kangkong was alright. Portion is good. Come and eat here!
