Saw some rave reviews about this being the best Lor Mee and saw an interview on YouTube. We tried the special lor Mee $10 and an $8 version with added fried fish eggs which also came up to $10. Both had lots of ingredients and I was glad to have to taste it all. The fried fish eggs complimented the lor mee. Along with the fish meat, braised pork, fried fish, braised egg and pig skin, the combination of textures are great. The amount of vinegar and chopped garlic is just right. The noodles are generous too. To me, it’s worth supporting this local hawker fare and worth the slightly higher prices given all the work and heart they put in. Is it the best? Hard to say since there are really good ones elsewhere as well but it’s certainly one of the better ones.
View on GoogleHad the $7 portion but didn't get the fried fish skin. However, there was 1 full egg, plenty of ngoh hiang, fish and some pork belly. Noodles portion is also big. Overall a very good bowl of lor mee, though I would have preferred the sauce to be served piping.
View on GoogleLor Mee : 8.5/10 rating This Tiong Bahru Lor Mee at Old Airport Road is by far my favorite Lor Mee that I ate in Singapore. I will visit this stall weekly if I am in Singapore. If you ordered $7 and above, they will give free fried crispy fish skin. You also can have additional add-on such as pig skin, fish roe and fried fish head. Gravy also very savory and umami ..
View on GoogleEver since the Xin Mei Xiang Lor Mee changed ownership, Tiong Bahru Lor Mee has become my go-to place for Lor Mee when I visit Old Airport Rd Food Centre. The lor sauce is savoury, if you add vinegar, it will bring out the best taste. It comes with generous portion of shredded fish.
View on GoogleFound this stall by chance as I was looking for lunch. It’s a one man show stall. From the interaction of the customers before me I can tell those were his regulars. The display of big pieces of fried fish made me queue for it. Unlike other lor mee stalls this chef used a pair of scissors to cut chunks of fried fish onto the noodles. 😍 My favourite kind of lor mee. The presentation may look messy but every morsel I ate was delicious. Looks like this stall is now my favourite here at old airport FC.
