Been here multiple times for the fish soup and it has been consistently good with generous portions of fish. So tried the duck porridge for the first time and please stay clear of it. It was not so much a porridge but thin gravy with rice inside. The duck also had a lot of bones in it making it very difficult to eat. Quite disappointed.
View on GoogleThe fish soup was super salty or msg filled, actually pleasantly surprised and found it delicious. Their porridge here wasn’t really porridge but rice with soup, so not my cup of tea. The other dishes were legit good though.
View on Googlei recently had lunch here. the sliced fish soup is really good and only $5.50 and A LOT OF FISH! The fish is very good quality and very fresh. White rice is $0.70, brown rice is $1, thick bee hoon no add on, also $5.50. For the drinks, i usually buy the warm barley, but i recently tried the cold version. it was not good because it tasted diluted and it was mostly ice. don’t get the cold barlet, get the warm one. The food arrives very fast but because i went on a public holiday, i waited for about 30 min. This is the most worth it and good quality fish soup i’ve had!
View on GoogleIf you’re someone who appreciates a clean, honest bowl of fish soup, Qin and Duck Porridge really delivers where it matters most, the soup. As a fish soup lover, I tend to be quite particular. I’m not looking for anything overly rich or heavy; what I want is that clear, delicate, naturally sweet soup that lets the freshness of the fish shine through. This place gets that balance right. The broth is light yet full of depth. There’s a gentle sweetness that feels natural, not forced, and none of that overpowering saltiness you sometimes find elsewhere. It’s the kind of soup you can keep drinking spoon after spoon without feeling overwhelmed. The fish itself complements the soup well, fresh, tender, and clean-tasting, which is exactly what a good fish soup should do. Overall, if your idea of a perfect fish soup is something clear, fresh, and comforting rather than creamy or heavy, it is definitely worth a visit.
