I stopped by Geylang East Market & Food Centre and really enjoyed the Malay food here, especially the clay pot rice. The renovated space feels open and comfortable, which made the meal even nicer. It’s the kind of hawker centre where I’d happily return to try a few more stalls.

Hokkien mee at 01-12 over rated - too much fats and not nice. Not with the visit next time. The popularfish duck soup porridge stall at corner. Tried the fish soup - meat fresh but the soup salty. Hainanese Chicken rice at 01-29 - very good. High quality with free soup. Worth to buy Wanton Mee at 01-22 very good but only open 4 days per week only.

With a rich history of excellent local food, Geylang East Hawker Centre remains a staple for the community. While it might not be the "best" hawker centre in Singapore, it is home to many stalls with impressive long queues that speak to their quality. It’s a reliable spot for a simple, authentic meal. If you live or work in the area, you should definitely check it out at least once!

A long-running neighbourhood market & hawker centre built in the 1970s, with both wet market stalls & cooked food. Popular in the mornings & afternoons for affordable local eats, but like most heartland markets, most stalls close by late afternoon. By evening the place is dark & quiet, with only a handful of stalls still open. Recently upgraded with better flooring, lighting & ventilation, it remains a true community hub serving the daily needs of Geylang East.
