Returned to this quaint joint as I remembered the amazing fried prawns with creamy buttery sauce and crispy batter (brought my colleagues to try and one of them kept raving about it). The fried kai lan was cooked impeccably and we had a hearty bowl of soup (the kind you craved with homecooked goodness). The pork trotter dish was delicious too and done a different style from traditional version. What I really love about the place (besides great food) is its USP - basically you help yourself to set up your own tableware and cutlery, take your own drinks from the chiller... as if its your own home. Because the chef is one man show, you also get the sense of private dining. Do make a reservation prior to visiting via WhatsApp. I have read mixed reviews on price being on the steep side yet conclusion is, if we pay for 5 Star restaurant overheads (rent, staff etc), why not pay for a quality meal whereby every single dish is prepared specially for you and that interaction beats the fluff of posh dining. PS: The Ipoh hor fun is really good and will be returning for more of my favourite dishes.
View on GoogleFound a real gem in City Plaza! Chiderful serves up amazing traditional dishes. The hearty clam soup was so comforting, and the salt-baked chicken was tender and juicy. Great quality food that tastes like a premium home-cooked feast.
View on GoogleI love this place. Gives me that wonderful feeling of eating da pai dong in HK. That nostalgic feel of an old building, excellent omakase style tzer char. Just tell Sifu what you feel like eating. Leave it to him to do the rest. Please support.
View on GoogleIf you want yo be a Big Sucker. Come in get slaughtered as the menu has no prices if the Chef owner make his menu recommendation. He didn't tell you the price until too 😲 shocked. You wouldn't expecting this cheap dinning place with alley shopping sitting on stool and table can charge & more than a established restaurant with table cloth and waitress with service. Steamed fish pieces less than 15 pieces cost you 68SGD.Half steamed chicken 24SGD and 24 SGD Chap Chye 18SGD. Tital price 142 SGD. Food nothing to shout about, hawker will taste better if it is not worst. Just felt being a cheated by a Dishonest chef owner. No wonder we are the only dinners here.
View on GoogleSuper delicious food though quite pricey. Tucked away in a corner of this old mall, it is not easy to find this place. My favourites were the steamed fish and lotus leaf rice.
