Bali Nasi Lemak on Sims Avenue is definitely one of the better Nasi Lemak spots out there. The place is clean and neat, and most of the dishes were still warm when served. The rice itself is very fragrant with a really nice taste to it. What impressed me was that even past midnight, the fried egg, chicken wing and egg with onion is still warm — small detail, but it shows they're on top of things. Only gripe is the chicken wing, which felt a bit too "thin" for my liking. Portion-wise, the food isn't cheap — my plate came up to $10 — but the quality justifies it. Most would think this is expensive. On the payment side, they have a cash machine where you insert your banknotes directly if you're paying cash, and PayNow is accepted too, so it's pretty convenient either way. Parking can be a bit of a hassle to find right outside, but there's paid parking along Lorong Bachok (off Lorong 19 Geylang) that's easy enough to grab a lot at. Overall, solid Nasi Lemak spot — would come back again.

Happened to come across this nasi lemak place at night and went in to eat. Good thing is that pricing is transparent on a screen at the door, and though the rice is pretty good, this place can't compete with other top tier nasi lemak places. Portion size could be a little larger too. Though the seats were quite clean and there's a bit of airconditioning so it's not warm. Good for a meal, but not something I'll specially travel here to eat.

Been wanting to try this nasi lemak place that only opens in the evening. It’s relatively popular. Shop space is quite big actually. One thing I don’t like is they don’t turn on the ac. They have ac installed but just refused to turn on..dunno to cut costs or what. But inside is abit stuffy. So there’s no price list or whatever. It’s nasi padang style. You pick whatever you want from the array of dishes displayed. I had the coconut rice with fried chix thigh, a kecap manis looking chix wing and a sunny side up ($8) with a canned green tea ($2). The chix is warm so still alright but not crispy. The kecap manis wings surprisingly not bad. It’s slightly sweet but wings are crispy. Rice is pretty standard coconut rice. I think it’s ok la not mindblowing. For the price, I think acceptable. I’m considering their overheads for a huge place like this should be high. I was expecting a $10++ plate of nasi lemak.

If you are looking for nasi lemak late at night with indoor seating, this is the place. I like the anchovies, hei bee hiam and long beans. Those who like sambal chilli and cucumbers will be pleased to know you can help yourselves to it. Not sure if allowed but they did not stop me! Roadside parking is free after 5 pm but may be hard to find a spot. There is URA open parking nearby though.
