One of the top porridge stalls in the Chinatown area. At just $5.50, you get fish belly, egg, and century egg—absolutely delicious! Be sure to mix in the preserved vegetables (冬菜); the fried shallots and spring onions also complement the porridge perfectly, enhancing the overall flavor.
View on GoogleThe term ‘no frills’ is most apt in my experience with Zhen Zhen Porridge. I am reconsidering whether porridge should even be named a simple dish after witnessing how many components the 2 stall owners have to prepare beforehand. Like many others, this stall is now my go-to when I am craving a satisfying portion of thoughts.
View on GoogleHonestly one of the best congee's I've ever had. I was surprised by this congee place. it was really very good! i got the combination so every bite was a different flavor and texture. The only down side was it wasnt hot. :( Congee in my humble opinion should be served piping hot. I don't know if i can fault them though since it had so many topping it may have dropped the overall temperature. pro tip: get the bread sticks at the stall in the other hallway, rip it up and make it soak up the congee. heaven!
View on GoogleSunday 05:30 Ordered $4 century egg chicken porridge. Such huge bowl and plenty of ingredients. think they add salty caipoh. luckily i did not add soya sauce. Very value for the portion Only complain I hope owner could stop using plastic spoon😆 Didn’t see any QR Code around the stall for E-Payment
View on GoogleThis is definitely the best hawker centre congee in the area. The porridge is thick, silky smooth, and flavourful, easily rival some restaurants. They provide generous toppings trio - shallot in oil, spring onion and minced cai poh for extra flavour. The menu is simple and the price is very affordable; there are only $4 or $5 options for everything, including the fish one which is usually pricier elsewhere. You can also add an egg for an extra $0.50. My go-to order is the fish with century egg, and I would add an extra egg for a total of $5.50. I suspect they use Tioman fish, but it is so well marinated and the skin is removed, meaning there isn't that typical muddy smell. If you aren't a big eater, the $4 portion is sufficient. Oh they don't offer youtiao but you can get one from nearby stall.
