Had the black pepper chicken noodles. The noodles were very springy and yummy, pairing perfectly with the chicken and gravy. Loved the egg too! I think this would go really well with rice, too. The stall owner was friendly and even gave me a free dumpling to try. The dumpling was great. Will be back to try other items!
View on GoogleWas looking for a quick bite and chance upon Xi DuoDuo. No queue. Ordered the “Beijing ZhaJiangMian” item no:5 at $5/- It tasted pretty good. Sauce and generous amount of mince pork. Noodle was Al dente… with a bit of chew which I like. Chef included a pork dumpling (水饺). For me to try or sample. I like it. Skin was not too thick with a slight chew. The meat filling was Well season, generous and juicy. Definitely will go well with the slice ginger and vinegar. Will try it when my next visit. Thanks for viewing. Happy food hunting Happy eating.
View on GoogleAm at the Maxwell hawker centre and chose XI DuoDuo by chance. OMG. Perfectly cooked. Wonderfully balanced. Fresh noodles, braised pork, soft scrambled eggs. Sime no? So many cant do it any more . Thank you for reminding me how good noodles can be. Many cheat with their braising, adding extra powdered 'unami', he doesnt. Long and slowly braised, deep flavour, fat was rendered as well as any american pit master could do!! No seasonings required, except a little chilli.... I will be back everytime i am in Singapore!! Was that good.
View on GoogleSuch good food and some of the best prices, very flavorful and filling. I got the braised pork and egg rice, It started queuing up right after me so I guess it’s known to be one of the favorites in Maxwell Centre. Would definitely eat here again!
View on GoogleTried xiaolongbao and shanghai dumpling. Typical xiaolongbao will have the juice oozing out when you bite into it, but not for this stall and hence, was disappointed. Shanghai dumpling not very flavourful as well.
