Very delicious chicken rice in this famous hawker. Succulent and tasty. Affordable and value for money

Don’t think it’s fair to the hawkers for being reviewed for their service standards. If you want service, go to a restaurant that charges 10% service charge for a dedicated restaurant manager to serve you. Tong Fong Fatt does authentic hainanese chicken rice. It’s the real deal, just look at the glistening soy sauce and oils. They even have tomato and cucumber slices with cilantro thrown in. They make the one of the best rice too, full of ginger flavour. If you eat chicken innards, I highly recommend getting the gizzard and liver. Perfectly cooked.

Secondly, the chicken rice is not fragrant enough, the roast chicken meat is not that tender but tastes still fine and lastly the braised egg is quite disappointing as it is not nice at all.

The workers are very rude, and the portion of chicken rice is extremely small, just 4 scoops and it’s gone. For budget rice, it feels like you’ve eaten nothing at all. Definitely won’t be coming back.

Ordered a $6 set meal. Quite tasty albeit salty which I’m okay. However, the chicken portion doesn’t justify the price..
