This stall, renowned for its famous Hainanese chicken rice and awarded a Michelin distinction, is located inside the Maxwell Food Centre. It has become a true local institution, attracting both residents and visitors seeking an authentic taste of Singaporean cuisine. The chicken was flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked. The rice, prepared with chicken broth and delicately infused with ginger, had a wonderfully fragrant aroma and a comforting texture. The accompanying sauces complemented the dish beautifully — well-seasoned, balanced, and not overly spicy, with notes of garlic and ginger enhanced by a touch of broth that added even more depth of flavor. Through this meal, I was able to rediscover the familiar and comforting taste of my childhood. That said, I found the chicken portion slightly less generous than expected. The service was fast and efficient, making the waiting time surprisingly short despite the stall’s popularity. While Singapore offers many excellent Hainanese chicken rice stalls, this one stands out for its authenticity and the memorable dining experience it delivers.

As ridiculous as it may sound, after eating meals ranging from S$150–S$400 in Singapore, this S$9 meal was honestly one of the most satisfying comfort foods I’ve had here. It’s such a simple dish — steamed chicken with sauce over chicken rice — but somehow incredibly flavorful and comforting. Nothing fancy, nothing overly complicated, just done really well. Sometimes that’s exactly what makes food memorable. Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice had the longest line in the market, which says a lot because of its Michelin rating, but the queue moved surprisingly fast. Unfortunately, the roast chicken was already sold out by the time I got there, so I only tried the steamed version. Now I understand why this place is so famous. I also explored a few other stalls in the market and tried fried oysters and some noodles as well. Everything was affordable, quick, and worth trying. Honestly, one of the best parts of Singapore food culture is that some of the most enjoyable meals don’t come from luxury restaurants, but from humble hawker stalls packed with locals and tourists standing in line together

Not recommended! As a Singaporean, I think I’ve tasted better and cheaper chicken rice elsewhere. This place is definitely touristy. I decided to come here for lunch one day and give it a try after not eating here for 3 years? Back then the chicken rice was still somewhat decent and acceptable. Now, I thought the chicken was dry and just mid at best. I added chicken meat and my plate added up to SGD 9. For Singaporean hawker chicken rice with added meat, $9 is quite pricey. I was expecting more meat too and the portion size was not up to my expectations. If the food was good, I was willing to overlook this. However, what followed was just a plate of somewhat bland and dry chicken rice which I think is not representative of chicken rice in Singapore as a whole. They expanded by riding on the Ramsay hype imo- ask any Singaporean and they will say it’s overhyped by tourism in general. I’m glad I gave it a try again after a 3-year hiatus because I don’t think I will ever eat this again even if my friends from overseas come to visit! On the bright side, service was efficient and quick. Have to give it to them hence the higher service rating.

Fantastic meal! Fame well earned! The MOST fragrant and delicious chicken rice, with great chicken (not ayam kampung though as an Indonesian). The whole chicken was MASSIVE (about the size of a CostCo rotisserie chicken) and the sauce was awesome. Amazingly cheap as well as they tend to keep it as low cost as can be (extra cost for sauces, cutleries, etc). Staff works very quickly and efficiently, with the usual Singaporean hospitality. Queue gets quite long knowing the fame of this place, especially during peak hours. Maxwell food center also gets packed really quickly, but there usually are seats. Would return often for meals.

Got the steamed chicken rice with vegetables which was good however the vegetables seemed pretty pricey for what you get. Food came out pretty quickly and there was almost no line when I went at around 4. I ordered the roasted chicken but I don't think they heard me but the steamed chicken was pretty good. It comes with bones though. Card accepted
