I asked the stall owner for a recommendation since it was my first time dining here. He suggested the pan-fried dumplings, so I went with that, choosing the pork and chives filling. The dumplings were served with vinegar and chili on the side, and surprisingly, the chili paired really well with the pan-fried dumplings. I usually stick to vinegar, but this time I found myself reaching for the chili more often. The filling was also the filling maximally stuffed. I’m definitely planning to try the boiled version next time. Another plus: it's rare to find stalls at Maxwell Food Centre that accept credit cards, but this one does, along with cash, PayLah, and PayNow.

View on GoogleNever have I had such disappointing dumplings and disappointing service in Singapore. By far the worst dumplings I’ve had in my life, not just in Singapore. Firstly, I wanted to be sustainable and brought my own takeaway box. Gave the guy $7 just in case he still wanted to charge me 0.2 takeout charge but he gave me back $1. Fine, I wait for my order. Btw there were no smiles, no niceties, he seemed annoyed that I was asking for dumplings. Order is ready and he hands me just my box back. I ask him what about sauce? And he wanted me to open the lid and gestured to pour the vinegar in. I politely declined and asked for some in a takeaway bag or capsule and he looked annoyed and said I should have paid 0.20 for takeout charge. I said “excuse me?” And he complained I’m trying to be cheap and save money and should have just paid the 0.20 to cover the full takeout cost which includes plastic bag. By this time, Im annoyed too and tell him to leave it and walk off. The dumplings themselves were bland, lacking in flavour, filling, texture, taste and any kind of juice or moisture. The skins were far too thick and doughy and weren’t fully cooked so left an uncomfortable taste that sticks to the roof of your mouth. I ended up not eating most of the thicker parts of skin that were uncooked. Also one piece had a large piece of gristle in it which I share a photo of. If you wrap dumplings, you know when you see a big piece of gristle and you always take it out. This guy clearly didn’t care. Do yourself a favour and try the dumpling stalls on the first aisle closest to the main road instead. There is a Shanghainese stall and another dumplings stall with xiaolungbao. Both are much better. I wanted to try this to compare and really wish I hadn’t. It is an insult to call these gyoza. When you go to Japan and try the real authentic gyoza, you will know how rubbish this is.
View on Google3⭐️(average), average pan fried dumplings. The dumplings is partly fired, not fully fried like those foodcourt one. The filling is also average level nothing special about it.
View on GoogleNever again, $10 for 12 dumplings that weren't even served hot. Skin is super thick almost feels like I'm eating bread
